fraser_yates Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Gutted for you mate. I know the road well (I'm from Shieldhill - probably shouldn't admit that though!) - I've seen cars on the wrong side of it all the time (& there's a few blind corners on it).
gus the bus Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 FFS whit wiz she dain oan the ither side of the Rd???[:S] Glad nobody was seriously hurt tho That back rds a real rat race @ times for folk coming down from Slamannan etc....I hope you get the insurance sorted out and we see you back in a scoob very soon Gus
shaun_odonnell Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Update: Heard back from A-Plan yesterday, the car is a total loss as expected. They asked me to forward the usual documents, V5, insurance certificate, MOT certificate and also all service costs and receipts I had so that the insurance company can research what the car would be worth today or something along those lines. So fingers crossed that the offer is fair and also hoping to buy it back to break for parts. It's going to be heartbreaking to see again, but I'd rather break it than some scrappy. I'll keep you posted how things turn out, I know a lot of people have been asking for parts already. Cheers, Shaun.
shaun_odonnell Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Just off the phone with the vehicle inspector, was asking about the car, mileage, cost, spec etc. Was almost sick to the stomach to hear him ask, was the spoiler knocked off in the accident?........................ I am raging!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am raging!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aye thats crap mate - at least you can show them the foties of the car on Burgoyne's transporter with the spoiler still in place. Who do you suspect has pinched it?
shaun_odonnell Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 He seemed sure of himself that it was not stolen, but could have been bumped or knocked off during transit. I mean, these things hand on pretty well at 150mph, something tapping it isn't going to make it fall off!
seafar99 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Shaun, could he be talking about your front splitter having fallen off in the accident rather than the rear spoiler.?
terzo neil Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 there is a P1 spoiler on ebay locally as well in hamilton could it be yours item no. 190118141179 hopefully not

lv-426 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 (edited) Always sad to see a Scoob in such a state - I know how you feel as my 06 STi is similarly knackered, thanks to a muppet in a Rover ripping my rear end off ! http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=105385 Was wondering if you had any problems with your insurance company when it came to getting a settlement figure, or is it easier if the fault is all on the other driver ? I'm concerned I'm gonna lose big time as heard it might be written off due to bodyshell damage, & with it being just over a year old ..... Edited August 30, 2007 by lv-426
