smileycentral is very dodgy, why would you need/want to install an exe file to get smileys? Just do a search on google for smileycentral and you'll see all the talk about spyware/malware. Here's a link to uninstall it (which I would highly recommend [])

The square and round post counters thing confused me but it's a client side caching thing I believe. IF you hit control and F5 when you see it then it should solve it.
