Gumball
Lucky escape there mate. Sounds like a decent policeman. I had one nice as pie a few months ago who then went on to hammer me bigtime. Thankfully due to my excellent lawyer i got off scott free. I was once stopped in Inverkip after rattling the car over the hills at warp speed. The policeman who chased me in his T5 said "Sir, As there is a charge for driving naked whilst having a goat in the pax seat, i have to charge you" I shouted "Stop hitting me, PLEASE stop hitting me, ill admit to it if you dont hit me again" The case was dropped Link to comment

ANDYJDMSTI
No I'm up north and he's down south but due to staff shortages we just about manage the country between us [] sounds about right. The last 2 that pulled me over were spot on guys, one old and one young. Wanted to chat and look at the car more than write my ticket, could easily have reported me to the PF but they said "we could tell you were not driving like an idiot but.......we have to write you up". Fair one in my eyes! Link to comment

TSL 333
I remember getting booked for speeding a year or two ago. The policeman gave me a telling off and explained he had been at a fatal road accident the day before involving 'one of those' cars. In fairness, I did take it easy for the next week or so. Some cops do let the power go to their head, however there are a few decent ones. I just let them have their say and bite my lip most of the time. On the subject of WPC's, I prefer the dark haired ones!! Link to comment
stripe
You just have to be fair to people, treat people with a bit of respect and you get a bit back. It's nice to hear people being more positive about the Police, end of the day we are here to do a job, no need to have an attitude while we do it. Link to comment

nanaki
yeah have to agree got let off with going through a red light the other night damn, my cousin got done for going through one by mistake on a roundabout 3 weeks after passing his test and got 3 points and a fine. you did get lucky. Can't say I've ever had a problem with the police. Except the ones in Dundee at the football grounds. They can be right kill joys.... But other than that most are just a regular bunch of nutters out of office time like the rest of us. Link to comment
chris_c201
Yep, same as every other walk of life, some numpties but generally decent.... I got stopped for speeding about 6 months ago, 2 traffic, 1 guy who stopped was a bit of a tool, and looking down his nose at me probably because of the car and the fact i'm fairly young..... 2nd guy who wrote up my ticket was really decent... After getting the ticket i stood there talking to him for about 5 minutes then walked away and said "thanks"... Only when i got in the car i realised i had essentially just thanked a guy for giving me 3 points and a £60 fine... just goes to show what a difference a decent attitude makes, if the first guy wrote up my ticket i would have been walking away muttering something under my breath!! Alan-G
The Police force is like any typical large organisation. Were ALL Human Beings and we ALL have faults. I'm not a Rozzer BTW. A Large organisation I worked for once had 1300 guys and 6 women. Well 4 of them were women and the other 2 ....... But again, that's a large organisation for you. Ps. Our house went on fire the night wee Hollie was born (thankfully mother and daughter were still in the Hozzy at the time) and I met quite a few firefighters (14 of 'em in 2 trucks) 4 Policepeople (being politically correct on that one :-) ) and 4 Paramedics. They were ALL just the Best ! If anyone is reading who was involved at the time - then Thankyou again. Alan + the girls. [] Link to comment
