  1. Aye, all started in thick fog. I drove about 30 miles on M1 through thick fog from London to Luton Airport this morning for a flight back to Inverness. Same thing on M1, cars with no lights on and going faster than they should with little or no visibility. Even my flight was delayed half an hour because of fog.
  2. Good to see it back, so many of these US shows get cancelled if the first (or second) series doesn't coin it in.
  3. Well, we may have been limited to only three cars but overall plenty of action and a good day.
  4. Hi Dave, fitted new discs and pads all round last summer, followed by wheels and tyres towards the end of last year. I also got fed up of the pipe swapping at MOT time so finally went for a similar 3" downpipe but with a 100 cell sport cat. No discernible drop in oomph and sailed through test. Probably have to look at suspension next, the BC's are almost 4 years old and had an advisory for corrosion on the springs. Planning on keeping, maintaining and adding here and there, so have a few ideas of where to go next.
  5. That's me sorted, I'll make it along Saturday Al, we could covoy up
  6. I may manage the Saturday if I get a shift change but won't know til later into next week for sure.
  7. As above, been AWOL for just over a year but finally got round to renewing my membership this week. Got straight back into the fold on the SIDC stand at Rrrrallye 2013 at Keith last weekend. Had my blob 4 years now and still able to put a smile on my face, so here are a few recent pic's with more in My Galley
  8. I still swear by Nitrous Formula OB, which gives 60 points or 6 RON per 300ml bottle. I've had my car mapped by Andy Forrest and add 2.5ml to 3ml per litre of V-Power/Momentum, which I believe equates to about 101 RON. Basically a third of a bottle per tank full but I do take the time to measure into a wee bottle at each fill.On that basis adding 5-6ml per litre should give similar results. That said my car is mapped with advancing timing for this (I've also a dual map which will allow it to run safely off boost in case I ever run out). I'm sure those more 'tech' minded will have a better idea but that's my tuppence worth. Below is a link to the place I get mine from (generally a bottle a month does me) the cheapest I can find anywhere for individual bottles with free delivery which even reaches me next working day up north. Last order I placed was between 3-4pm and still arrived with postie about 10am next morning. CamAuto - NF Octane Booster
  9. Aye Dave it was me, just before jetting off to the sun. Was in Italy for alomst a fortnight but didn't see a single Scoob while there.
  10. I'd recommend NF Race Formula Octane Booster, which comes in 300ml bottles. Info from NF's own website Most octane boosters only give 1 or 2 points per 300ml bottle, where NF is concentrated and gives 6 points. I even had my car mapped by AndyF with 99 ron V-Power/Momentum and a measured amount of this stuff (approx. 2-2.5ml per litre). Here are links to a couple of online suppliers, the first being where I usually get it from as cheapest including p&p when buying a single bottle - and that's to an IV32 post code. There are some deals for bulk buying but I find a bottle does me a month with the miles I generally do. Import Car Parts Roger Clark Motorsport Power Enhancer ASP Trading Of course, other suppliers are available.
  11. Done, we aim to please. But I'm standing by the sentiment of how a small minority can spoil it for the rest and needn't turn up.
  12. As there are now two threads about this in different sections please follow the link to the one in the Events section instead of posting here. Link to Events
  13. I suppose I should add this was rumour but the point I was making is those who know me and my job perspective know I'm never gonna be in the lead group and generally asume the role of tail end Charlie. Anyhoo, I'll double check things and see which weekend will suit me best now my missus is working some weekends too.
  14. When I suggested this I was working shifts with every weekend off. Unfortunately, I'm back on a new shift pattern which has me working most weekends again. Last month I had no weekends off and this month I only have two - 17&18 and 24&25 Sept. Anyhoo, if anyone's interested on either of those weekends I'll look into it.
  15. Saw this blue Scoob passing 'Peter Petrelli' in an old episode of Heroes.
  16. Always good when it's an easy fix I had a similar problem a few months back and couldn't find the problem until I took the intercooler off and found the following damaged and leaking pipe hidden at the bottom of the turbo.
  17. Mine came with the car done by a braver man than I. Anyhoo, let's know how ya get on Dave and remember to post the obligatory before and after pic's
  18. Welcome aboard mate. I'm up Inverness way from time to time so will keep an eye out for ya.
  19. May help if you post details of your car/age/model and the turbo fitted etc. I'm far from an expert but the TD04 on my old car was running up to 1.2bar, I think on low boost with a remap and a bit more on high. I believe the VF35 on my current car is similar and is somewhere about 1.6bar at full whack. I'm sure once folk know what you're running someone on the know will pipe up with the info.
  20. You're nae wrong and sad to say I believe I actually remember that
  21. Cheers I was staying in Drymen a couple of weeks back and pretty much drove most of that route home, Loch Lomond- Glencoe- Fort William- Inverness- Fochabers. Nothing set as yet for September as I'll need to check my shifts for the first couple of weeks in Septmeber closer to the time. My mate posted a link on MLR in a 'run to Aplecross' thread and has a few takers too, so may be a joint venture if folks can get their head round the notion and play nice.
  22. Cheers for the positive comments. This wasn't set out to be a 'run' as such, more a couple of mates filling in a Sunday that got carried away. First choice was to run Elgin to Mallaig, via Aviemore and Fort William, then take the ferry across to Armadale and up to Elgin via Kyle of Lochalsh, Inverness etc. Unfortunately, a lack of time and the extra cost put pay to that this time.
  23. With the Moray area grey and overcast on Sunday past (24/07/11), my MLR mate and I decided the only chance we had of seeing the sun was for a wagons west run. So with a successful run up and around Ullapool back in April already in the bag we opted for a pilgrimage to Applecross and the Bealach na Ba pass. As forecast, once west of Inverness the sun did indeed come out and a great time was had by all, well both of us anyhoo. Managed to get a load of pic's so here are the highlights. We're planning another run but it'll probably be into September if anyone's interested. I'l post it in events with pleanty of warning closer to the time.
