center section and backbox sound like a good plan.. But will the wr sport backbox be enough to bring out the burble (but not too loud) [*-)]

If you do in the cat pipe and unresonate the centre it will give a nice growl I imagine. Not stupidly loud.

Admittedly mine is topped off with the Hayward and Scott Japslash box of considerable size. It was reasonably loud with just the backbox, so I can't really make a great judgement.

I've done it on mine, and it's a 20 minute job to put the originals back on Neil, and no one will be any the wiser.

thanks for the advice Stephen.

my car is booked in for a service on friday so will find out the situation with the brakes and will then decide on what to do.

I don't plan to really increase the bhp too much so standard set up may do with better pads and discs and the braided hoses.

can you recommend a nice set of discs?  drilled or grooved or neither?

Duncan at Hypertech told me that Brembo do a nice set of discs for the WRX. I'm weighing up my options though.
