Craig [] I would be well up for a jaunt up north and some camping, bbq and beer. Count me in for that. Wilkys idea sounds good to me!

gus the bus Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Quote Found it gus. Wouldn't bother as it looks in rubbish condition. Shame[] used to be in excellent condition too. What a waste!!!

johnnyr6 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Andy, got to fix: gearbox/diff prob, gearbox mounting subframe bolt, rear wheel bearing, brakes, suspension/chassis, wash it, Not much really...lol All probs, not just getting uprated..[]
the squiggle Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Quote As for the car there are a couple of people in front of you haha [] .....and i am right behind Storm in the queue. As for next year, i have 3 runs of the same quality in store as 1 day run outs. Planning a run in March, May and October. Without giving to much details away the March run will be centrally located, the same kind of area as the November run last year. This route will be hard mapped with all junctions physically marked with marker tape. The May run will be a bit more south-west of the November run and the October run will cover the exact same roads we covered a couple of weeks back.. I am planning the runs and putting a sh1tload of effort and my own money into recceing the runs to make sure the road quality is worthy of the Impreza but my aim next year will be to locate them geographically central in Scotland to ensure EVERYONE can attend, from the Rievers in the south to the Sheep of the north. Lets get together, burn some fuel and get to know what each other look like with out a keyboard in sight I would love to push the idea of an overnighter on Bute, the thought of a stramash of Scoobies invading the island would be awesome with a capital Z. I fancy the idea of an Ingilston style sprint challange against the MLR chaps. Gain weight at an extraordinary pace and possibly give up the Tobagan JPS ......i said POSSIBLY give up the Tobagon JPS
wilky Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 The ring eh? Hmmm. (Wilky wanders off to start coulting teeth on diffs and find a gearbox with UK gearing)
pedals Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Like your Bute idea Callum, Not been over for a while, used to race around the island on bikes a good while ago but have never been over to Mount Stewart. Plus the ferry is less than 2 minutes from my front door Pedals
wrxmania Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Some good ideas for next year - keep 'em coming []
st3ph3n Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Sprint day at Kames? I missed going on track back at the excellent Richard Burns day. It looked like great fun too. Would love to have a go round there. As mentioned - the MLR day at ingliston yesterday was good and we should definitely try and do this next year, possibly as a joint thing. Although maybe with a different layout.
paulc555 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I could put my head on the block an offer to organise a trip to the homeland to see the first Irish WRC round...that is of course if I make it back from the Circuit of Ireland...!!!! Paul
GaryD Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Trip to bute sounds good, and im even closer to the ferry than Pedals. Prob be up for most of the other suggestions aswell... wanting to get as much use out the scooby as possible, so they sound like ideal days / weekends etc! Roll on 2007! []
McGoo Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Ah the B-roads of Bute ........... bring it on. Quote Trip to bute sounds good, and im even closer to the ferry than Pedals. I'm way way way closer to the ferry than Pedals !!!! @Gary - What colour of motor have you got. I've probably seen you about, Noticed a shedload more Scoobs down my way recently. In fact, one of the other "fathers to be" at Ante Natal class turns out to own one too !!! Stuff talking about dilation and placenta when you can natter about the flat four !!!
GaryD Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Our scoob is a Silver bugeye sti with pff7 rims. Altho our house is in Gourock, were getting work done it, so im back living at my folks in Wemyss Bay, hence how im closer to the ferry! Where abouts are you from and whats your scooby like? Ive probably seen you about at some point, but never really paid any attention to others until recently when we got ours []
ally-b Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Ye'll no get closer to the ferry than that ! lol [] Al.
G.T. Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 if you arrange the trip to rothsey you all gotta pile in the seaview cafe, grubs amazing and i know the owner[]

warby Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Why not come and have some fun at the RING and the WRC in Germany. Have a look here. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/752812/ShowPost.aspx
Kenny.S Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 All sounds like good fun to me, ill definately be up for as many meets, events, runs, 1/4miles, track days, as i can manage. need to try and make up for this years lack of attendance [:$] I've also been looking into a trip to the ring, it's something i've wanted to do for ages. Would be awesome if we could arrange a big convoy. Kenny
craig mac Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 The Ring ...... We were looking at getting our cars transported over for us. I think its about £200 a car for 8 cars, delivered and returned. Load car on to transporter, Get on flight, get in to hotel for a shandy[D]......Car arrives following day, Fun begins.[] Load cars back on to transporter, fly home, recover[*-)]. Car arrives back the following day[] CraiG
Kenny.S Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I have heard of people getting their cars transported over but i always felt part of the fun was driving there, plenty of opportunites for pictures etc and making a bit more of and adventure out of it. I can see the plus points for getting it transported though, you would probably be a little fresher when you got there and also if you were unfortunate enough to brake something, getting home isn't such a big deal, although you can get European breakdown recovery fairly cheap to cover you for a weekend. To be honest though i'm not too fussed how i get there []
