micra_wrc Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 gus, been to this rally the past couple of years and its fab. recommend getting the spectator pack, u get a comprehensive map of all stages/parking/spectator access and also a free pass to get you into the parking areas (think its a fiver a pop otherwise) clicky here for last year's thread and pics [] imy
gus the bus Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 I havent been to this for years[:$][] so a return visit it well overdue. Watched the event on the Irish Tarmac series on Sky last year and it looked superb. If you get more details of stages etc b4 the website could you post them up please[Y] Cheers Gus
the squiggle Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 The 25quid supporters pack looks interesting. Wll be there as per usual this year
road warrior Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 OK as soon as I find out I'll post where and when! The supporters pack is good if youre gonna go to the main spots, especially Swinton Mill X roads, and the Langton water splash. There are a few other good spots out of the way if you know where []
the squiggle Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I usually start at Ayton and then drive like a loon to get to the rest of the stages but if kind local was to offer guidance
gus the bus Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 I'd like to know where![] Marshalling anyone? Marshals April 2006. Dear Marshal, I’m sure you’re already aware of the dates for the rally, 7th - 9th July ’06, so here I am again with my annual plea for Marshals to assist in the running of the British mainland’s’ only closed road event. The Rally will cover some 140 stage miles over the three days and host many competitors from Clubman level up to WRC status and involving about 180 cars. On Thursday 6th July ’06 there is a ‘shakedown’ taking place in the grounds of Floors Castle from 19.00hrs. onwards at which you’ll be most welcome to come along too and start a weekend of rallying over the closed roads of Berwickshire. As this is a unique event there are some unique conditions that have to be complied with, one of which is to provide Marshals at specific places, i.e. junctions, X roads etc. and to be able to identify them to the authorities in advance of the rally running. Because of this I need to know in advance who the Marshals are, so please let me know a.s.a.p. if you can help. The format is basically the same as last year but with 6 stages on Friday, 14 on Saturday and 11 stages on Sunday (including the now infamous 75m ford on the Whiteadder stage). You can see, there is a need for a large number of Marshals, so any help will be most welcome. The improved camping / caravan facilities will be available at Kelso, again, FOC to marshals who book in advance, before 1 July ‘06. Please note, to use the campsite there will be a flat fee payable for the weekend or part thereof for anyone not pre-booked. (£40 per tent or caravan) In order to update contact details and to ensure I can update you with event details as we go along, would you please check the address label on the envelope sent to you is correct, if not, let me know. Also, would you provide me with your contact telephone number and an e-mail address, if you have one. A Marshals draw will be repeated again this year. So, if you can help, please let me know a.s.a.p. Andy. Chief Marshal - Stepps House, Eglingham, Northumberland, ME66 2TX Tel: 01665 578409 - Mob: 07752 310930 email: marshals@jimclarkrally.com
road warrior Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 OK, I'll dig out last years map with the stages on, and mark some good viewing spots on for ya's! It'll be a rough guide just now, till I either find last week's paper, or the 2006 maps are out... Go on St3ph3n, you know you want to!!

I've done it for the last 2 years so i'm counting myself out this time, it's my turn to be on the all day!! Hope to see some of you there Edit: Not going to make it after all! I'm getting sent back offshore 4 days after this trip so i'm going to miss it[] I did tell the guys in the office ages ago that i needed this weekend off but somewhere along the way they've mixed the dates up.
