fai17 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 I got a Roger Clark Motorsport induction kit to replace my APS CAI because i don't need the MAF sensor as the GEMS ECU use a MAP sensor instead. It's a very large K & N filter with a 80mm trumpet and it's own SAMCO hose. Spoke to Olly from RCM and he took great time be explain the question i asked him.Great guy.Plus i got a discount from him too.The car defo has more top end because the size of the filter and all i made to make now is a heat shield on tuesday to complete the job. Note the ducting i have put in for the air feed. Thanks to Gumball for the ducting CHEERS MATE[Y] And finally cleaned my engine bay with Halfords CD2.It's great stuff. Thanks for looking and what do yous think?
jamie_wood Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 I think.....you should but even MORE stuff from RCM. Had a shot of a car thats been prepared by them and its the BLX. Well done for not buying from a "Max Power" tuning outfit and actually going to the guys who DO know about these cars. They were built as rally cars so more folk need to understand that it takes folk with that knowledge to prepare the car.
bigbadboab Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Looks the mutts nuts, but you missed a bit next to the battery[]

wilky Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Yup, RCM helped me with my geometry settings and the car was transformed, the coilovers were a handful until I had the right settings, after that things were much better. Callum W

Agree with you that Olly and the boys know their stuff, helped me in the past too The car is actually smoother to drive. The APS use to make some dunking noise on part throttle which is now gone.A bit quietier too but still dumps through it all the same. Note there is no MAF sensor on the trumpet. Has your's got the MAF sensor on it Andy? When can you take me out for a spin m8????
ally-b Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Looks very nice Peter - I'll have to drop round for a look later [Y] Al.

ANDYJDMSTI Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Yes Pete mine still has the maf sensor on it. Had to get the MAF re-scaled by Andyf when i got the mapped tweaked as i got the 80mm kit. Seemingly if you get the 76mm one it does not need re-scaled.
bigbadboab Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Looks great Peter.... Geeeezzzz thats one clean engine bay...thought i was a fanatical polisher, but you and Gus should form the shiny car club[] That's coz Gus is a fair weather driver, he even sold his bike coz it is too cold[]

Yes Gordy you can get one to fit your car but you need to get the trumpet with the MAF sensor. They do one in a kit form but come with the slightly shorter K & N filter. And it's a 80mm pipe.
