ian_finlayson Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Going to be getting 4 new tyres pretty soon. Is there anywhere around here that can compete with mytyres.co.uk plus fitting. I assume fitting will cost up to £10 a wheel. Again if anyone can recomend a good reasonable and alloy friendly fitter I'd be greatful. Looking at T1-r's pirelli P zero's, goodyears and michelins on 17s by the way. Thanks Ian
wrxmania Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld seem to be the one always recommended. Also, a very good tyre place in Broxburn too. Haven't used them myself. Brian
Boydo Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 << Also, a very good tyre place in Broxburn too. Haven't used them myself. Brian >> Scot tyre, Broxburn. Used thema few times. Spot on like. Dont fit tyres tho. Just sell them. Cash only mate!!!!

sharon_mccall Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I can reccommend WH Tyres in Bonnybridge (along from hypertech). They have been brilliant to me and even leant me a tyre for a few weeks there. Great guys.
ian_finlayson Posted January 16, 2006 Author Posted January 16, 2006 Are we talking £77.40 a tyre for T1-R's cheap?
sma01 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Jim Dickson in cumbernauld gets a really good name and prices are meant to be pretty competitive too mate... scott
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 << Are we talking £77.40 a tyre for T1-R's cheap? >> That way better than the price i forked out for a couple of Toyo T1-R's just before christmas. Payed nearly £200 quid for the tyres and fitting (not including tracking!) that was from Autoimage in Edinburgh, not the cheapest price but was convinient for me at the time. To be honest when i was down south (Leeds area) i found the cost of the Toyo tyres was much cheaper. I think this is due to there being no official retailers for Toyo's in Scotland and so its a case of paying extra for wheels to be shipped up from down South (or so it seemed when i was on the hunt for cheap Toyos previously i may be wrong!). Could be worth considering if you are planing a trip down south anytime soon as most places that stock Toyos will have a supply in stock on the premises and will usually offer fitting in the cost of the tyres.
FastScooby Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 paid £276 for yokohama parada's spec-2 the other day... and £8.50 x 4 to kwik-fit for fitting I got the tyres from scotyre in broxburn - 01506 854 494

I know Maggie and i went to skool with Graham the fitter. I tend not to go to them unless its REALLY needed and cant wait.
ian_finlayson Posted January 16, 2006 Author Posted January 16, 2006 Don't do much travelling down south but the price I gave included delivery so I would just need to get them fitted up here.
JohnSt Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 As mentioned above.... Jim Dickson, he is an official Toyo dealer... so there I've been going there and sent, many many there, never heard a complaint... Fantastic family business. ---john---
jamie_wood Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 'Wheels Around' in Auchterarder, ask for Ronnie 01764662897 Hes at all our track events. Swaps wheels over for folk, sells slicks, road tyres etc. Rallys Imprezas too
IanJ Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Another vote for Jim Dickson. I'm a tight git and always phone around for the best price and end up back at Jim's. Superb service too.
dave_morgan Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I'd give these guys a ring. I've not bought from them for a while, but they gave me the best price around for some F1's a while back. http://www.micheldever.co.uk/tyres.html HTH, Dave

gus the bus Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 try Auchenlea Tyres near Wishaw! Next to Auchenlea tip on the A73 Newhouse to Wishaw section. Always been good prices for good quality performance and low profile tyres. Gus
