scoobyseller555 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 owner was asking the other day while in for his first service,'is this the lowest mileage mcrae in britain?',i couldn't answer the question! The car was in for its first service,YES FIRST!with 980 miles on the clock,do you know of any with less?
colinj Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Doubt it that car must be what 10yr old?? What did someone buy it then forget it was in there garage??
scoobyseller555 Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 honestly can only be described as new, what a find,as it left the factory!
ed-209 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I always thought cars where to be serviced by mileage or time ie 1,000 miles or 6 months which ever came first. That car should have been service every year at least, if it's took 10 years for the first service and he came to sell it, It would raise a few eyebrows, The only miles on it must be going for it's MOT's. Ed
imprezapete Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Well if you think about it, its not been used at all much so the items on the car will be in a near new state. So does the time or mileage really apply? I wouldn't think so unless some bits have life expectancy.

Wonder why its not been used!!
scoobyseller555 Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 kept in a carcoon all its life and services are only relevent on time and mileage if you r keeping the original warranty intact, this ran out over 7 years ago but the book is stamped upto 3 years old, original pirellis, wax on engine(with no road grime stuck 2 it),unmarked wheels & bodywork, and all original supplying dealer stickers, tax disc holder & number plates we had it on the ramps & even the exhaust is like new from front 2 back still stainless with no discolouring or rot.....truly a timewarp classic of the very first uk ltd edition
dan_jess Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Car will be a show winner in years to come!
stuboo Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Feck me I done that mileage in the last week. Someone has to get that car to a SIDC stand next year so we can get a look
ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 So much for Imprezas being a drivers car!!! Why the hell buy it if you don't use it......................clown!
rossyboy1 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I can see the appeal of keeping it mint and driving maybe 3,000 miles a year during the summer on dry days, but doing 100 miles a year is totally pointless. A complete waste of money and garage space.
fai17 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Man buys scooby and dies because of cost to run..... Son born and lost the garage key.. Boy finds garage key 10 years later and hand it to elderly brother. Big brother(19) takes to garage for first 1000 mile service. And so the story continues with the life of the classic......Awesome
dougster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 The guy may be a collector. I know where one of the last ever Mk1 Escort Mexico's that came off the line lives, and it doesn't have many miles on it either!!! It's not on public display and lives in a shed with 2 escort mk2s, a Testarossa (which has a pair of socks protecting it's mirrors!!!) and other 'toys'!!
colinj Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Agreed.....ok its a slightly special car as in its one of 200 but at £23k new its never going to be worth that again - not in our lifetime anyway!! Wouldnt like to value it now!! Book must be about 5k or less with average miles so with 1k..........??
dougster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 A car like that wouldn't 'book'. It's worth what someone is willing to pay and to get a classic like that it will be worth more than 5k. I wonder if it has piston slap and clutch judder?

Just wondered what an unused one would fetch.....will the classic ever be seen as a 'classic'??
RS Grant Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Thats crazy... Can see the thinking behind it, but wouldnt have the self restraint to do it myself!! I think some Classic Imprezas will end up being valuable, but not many. Cheers, Grant
scoobyseller555 Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 wonder if colin mcrae would b interested in buying it!he's got the cash and the collection!
