st3ph3n Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I've read many people saying the ALK is very good, but what exactley does it do? My car is due in at Hypertech on Friday and its getting Tein springs which will obviously require the geometery to be done again, so I thought about getting the ALK done at the same time so I can avoid doing it later and having to get the geom done again.
alistair_learmonth Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 You will have to speak to sma01 on here mate, he's only one I know got it fitted at Dunc's. Dunc praised them high so did sma01.
p1ggm Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 got mine fitted from awd, one of the best and cheapest mods i have done, car felt so much better as soon as i drove it i also have tien springs too, but i havent had the car back since they got fitted so i cant comment on them
st3ph3n Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 I just read the whitepaper on the ALK on the whiteline site and I'm very confused now. I will phone Duncan tomorrow and get his opinions, unless anyone else has anything to add.
Scooby Dooby Blue Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Worth getting the anti-dive kit fitted to the front while you're at it, keep the car balanced n all that
Don Mega Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Very good piece of kit, well worth the money.. It basically helps reduce understeer. Anti-Lift meaning you dont have to lift off the gas as much round corners - less lifting at the front under accelleration, keeps the car/weight distribution more balanced. I got mine fitted at AWD along with anti-roll bars and drop links front n rear. Makes a huge difference. D.
paddy247 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 well worth fitting this kit along with the usuall d/links and anti roll bars.
the squiggle Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Got an Anti Lift Kit for a classic sitting here if any one wants it £40 Grant

ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 << I was the ugly one you met at Greers and will be down there on Sat morn. Grant >> change of plans chief................the project has been altered
sma01 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 agree with you Donald(shocker)....totally transforms the car, Duncan fitted mine a while back and it is well worth the money.... scott
st3ph3n Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 Spoke to Hypertech today. Probably not possible to get them in for Friday. I wish I had my brainwave earlier in the week now! Don't want to postpone the service as the car is needing it. So I've added them to my list for next year. And a good list it is now
sma01 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 if you are doing the anti lift kit mate, would highly recommend putting the whiteline ARBs on the car, as well as changing the front drop links as well, if you havent already done so....Dunc will keep you right, he fitted all the said items to my car scott
st3ph3n Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 Alloy Droplinks all round are done. ARBs are on the list. I'll get them done with the ALK next year I think.

But even now it feels great
WUZ Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Mark - I'll PM you the settings choices that I have and you can decide from there before Tuesday! Russell
Power Junkie Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Ok It is all done Everyone should have it done. The car is so solid and stable now. I have lost the understeer and now got a nice bit of oversteer, Much better I went for a 1/2 prodrive setup, -0.7deg front camber with -1mm tow, rear both 0. It feels like a new car again,, very very happy
WUZ Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 So, unlike other peoples feelings and thoughts, it seems I MAY HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! Middle finger firmly raised up at all the non-believers Russell
