des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I had a set of Whiteline front and rear alloy droplinks fitted tonight at Hypertech, and what a difference these have made to the handling the whole car just feels far tighter I can well recomend these to anyone that has the standard items, and as a bonus Hypertech is doing free fitting at the moment too cheers Ducan

des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 I think it was £125 for front and rear fitted m8, well worth it m8 its so much tighter I think i will be back out for the uprated bars too
paul_honthy Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 been thinking about them myselfhow much did it hurt the wallet
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 I'm sure Duncan said the rear bar was £97 m8, not sure about the front !
WRC No 1 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 good on u des told u it would be a lot better. but i fitted the front and rear my self so it was easy on the £££ lol wullie
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Ye what a difference wullie, after seeing what its like with just those fitted i'm thinking of polly bushing everything now
fai17 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Nice one.I think my needs a wee treat. Haven't heard from you for ages m8
st3ph3n Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Go for it Peter. I've had mine done. Them + decent alignment would be the first thing I'd do to any new Impreza. AFter the back box that is.
2559B Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Also have the whiteline stuff fitted. droplinks , bushes , & anti-lift kit. ( with Prodrive geometery ). A worthwhile investment.
fai17 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 << Also have the whiteline stuff fitted. droplinks , bushes , & anti-lift kit. ( with Prodrive geometery ). A worthwhile investment. >> How much m8 and is it good??????
john_robertson Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 << Ye what a difference wullie, after seeing what its like with just those fitted i'm thinking of polly bushing everything now >> Little word of warning, polybushing everything can make the car feel very harsh and hard at low speeds, great on track or when pushing it though. Maybe worth considering depending on how you use the car. John.
2559B Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 << How much m8 and is it good?????? >> Sorry Peter , The parts were already fitted to the car when I bought it. I can only really compare it to my last scoob which had standard suspension. ( '03 WRX ) The handling on the WRX was good ( although never pushed to the extreme limit ) but the RB5 , with the Whiteline goddies fitted just feels so much better. As I said above, It's a worthwhile investment. IMHO
des_curran Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Haven't heard from you for ages m8 >> Hi Peter, I've been so busy the last few weeks emptying the house i sold but thats it done now the keys get handed over next wednesday, i'm just glad to get it all over with
frank c Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I was thinking about upgrading my rear ARB....Do i just need to do the rear or is it more beneficial to fit the front aswell????????????? Frank.
ian_finlayson Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I've got front and rear drop links too. Just one problem with them They are still in the boot as I haven't fitted them yet. AWD supplied them and would have fitted them for a total of just £105 BTW (inc droplinks in case that reads wrong)

Andy N Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Whiteline Rear extra heavy 24mm adj. anti roll bar Whiteline Front extra heavy 22mm adj. anti roll bar Whiteline Sub frame locking kit Whiteline Alloy heavy duty rear drop links Whiteline Alloy heavy duty front drop links Whiteline power steering rack bushes Whiteline Anti lift Caster kit Whiteline 4 point under front tie bar Whiteline rear under tie bar The car handles sweet as a nut and there is room for more, next months shopping list will consist of 4 Whiteline adj. rear tie bars and a set of the Whiteline coilovers, that's if Grant allows me to dip into the stock again. Highly reccomended stuff
andy_robertson Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 im gettin the whiteline front and rear droplinks put on from hypertech next week and i cant wait!!! also thinking or the anti lifts too heard they make the car handle even better!!!! i'll need to save hard!!!
fai17 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I am not so sure now. I think my car handles great as it is. Do i really need to uprate the certain parts??? Do i need it to handle better???? I goes quick, handles great and stops brill so do i relly anymore. Think i'll get a turbo timer instead unless someone can prove me wrong..
jcscoob Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Peter, you need MORE MORE MORE !! True fact though thay do handle real good as is.
fai17 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 << Peter, you need MORE MORE MORE !! True fact though thay do handle real good as is. >> Exactly .....where do you draw the line between needing and just want to buy them because everyone say thier are good. Don't want to put a downer on people that have got /getting them. Just my personal thoughts.. I maybe daft but i'm not stupid..
colinj Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I was along getting an oil change & front disks & pads today, told me about the whiteline offer Said maybe after the New Year, now after hearing you lot sing its praises I think its gonna have to get done! Also......I must add, today one of my callipers was well & truly f**ked & Duncan fitted me one he had lying about for pretty much free of charge & also pointed out a small oil leak I didnt know existed - Fantastic service from Hypertech as per usual!!!! Colin

Think i'll get a turbo timer instead unless someone can prove me wrong.. >> Hi Peter, Have spoken to several people on this and on the new age cars generally they recommend rear anti roll bar and drop links only - no caster kit, no anti lift etc as many people don't know what the car needs so just fit the lot. On a classic they recommended lots of stuff as the shell is a bit like Jelly but the new age cars are known to have a very stiff shell/chassis anyway. Get the rear drop links done, proper geo set-up and prodrive (or other) springs if you don't have them already and you'll be handling just great. Then start fitting any other bits like strut braces, front anti-roll bar, front drop links etd after you know what the bits you already have do. An example given to me was of an Impreza with the full Whiteline kit on it - everything available (except coilovers etc). They said it was totally terrible on the Whiteline settings but great on the Prodrive ones, or the standard Subaru ones - they thought the Prodrive set-up was the best for neutral handling and all the other toe-in, toe out type combinations only if you wanted the back end to step out, massive oversteer etc or were always driving on perfect tarmac. If you like it as is, do very little to change it. Brian
