NightOwl Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Hi there. My name's Brian from Glenrothes and I am the very pleased owner of Zeolite's old wagon, the '99 (T) 2000. This is car number 27 for me, but I've never, ever had a driving experience like I've had since picking the car up last Monday. Thanks to Russ at Eden for putting a good deal together for me, which included a Hayward & Scott back box on the car. Wow! What a lovely noise I traded an MG ZS180 in, and I thought that was a fast car, until I drove the Scoob! Right now, I can't understand why anybody would want to mod the power of the car, as there's more than enough horses there for me, though I imagine that may change as time goes on. The Impreza is a car I've been promising myself for years and it's certainly been worth the wait. I'm not the most technically minded in the world, so I'll no doubt be asking some pretty stupid questions in the future I'm very impressed by these Forums, meets, runs etc. There wan't much of this for the MG. Hopefully I'll get to meet a fair few of you in the future. Definitely a very happy Subaru owner!
jcscoob Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Wellcome mate, you have made a good choice of car !
IanJ Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 You didn't buy that car did you (Definately kidding!) Welcome to scooby ownership. You're in the wrong place, asking why anyone would want to mod their scoobs. There are more modded scoobs than you can shake a stick at round these parts. From the mild to the wild (and then there's Squirrels new steed!) I'm sure you'll enjoy the new car MUCH more than the MG. Get along to a meet, just make sure you don't get too close to the mod nutters, it's contageous!!! Ian
st3ph3n Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 And damn expensive. Welcome mate. Enjoy the show.
dougster Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome Niteowl. That car is spotless and has always been driven sensibly.
Johnny50 Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome aboard. Good choice of car. Ian looked after it well. Hope to see you at some meetings soon.
FastScooby Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 YEEHAAA...another fifer, we seem to be a scarce bunch on here Welcome
andy Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Beware of the one they call Gumball! Welcome (and I'm another Fifer - although they call it Clackmannanshire for some reason)
P1_Paul Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Was the MG black per chance. I think I got your car as a courtesy car the day after you traded it.
NightOwl Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 Thanks for the kind words... No, the MG was actually green. I think Russ was going to trade it on as Eden was trying to sell the black one and next door had a bright yellow one on the forecourt. Just call me sad, but I've just spent a full five minutes looking at Andywrx's avatar trying to work out who that rather attractive young female is! Both hands were behind my back before anyone says anything!
wrxmania Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome Nightowl, A safe bet as a car that one - looked after and not driven by one of the idiots who aometimes seem to own Impreza's. Brian P.S. Get yourself along to the Edinburgh/Lothians meet on Tuesday night and meet a few people!
Gumball Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 welcome mate hope you enjoy the forum and club
2559B Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome Brian Hope you enjoy the new car ............ a word of warning though ............... ........... You WILL develop a thirst for more power & sticky-on bits !!! Ally.
G.T. Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Hope you enjoy the car as much as I enjoy mine Ive only had mine since monday , Uk300 I think they are the dogs not so sure the mrs does though, she can stick to her saxo with her mirror in the drivers side sunvisor and silver alloys
scott_coull Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Welcome mate. Another fellow Fifer here, if you need any help or have any questions feel free to give me a shout. Cheers Scott
zeolite Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Hello Nightowl. So you got my old wagon eh. I had 30k of good fun and service from it. It wasn't kept the cleanest but it was kept well serviced. AS others have stated I am a very sensible driver and apart from the strut brace it was kept standard. it is certainly fast enough to lose your licence so watch those limits m8. can be very easy to forget how fast you are going if you are not used to a scoob turbo although with your new box that might not be a problem. hope to se you at a Fife meet soon. Some pics Alford SIDC 2004 Alness river pug tow
