Focus RS Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 You just beat me to it Rog, was going to post my vid up here as it has some good footage of a black Scooby with the silver logo on the sides and boot going sideways round Clarks. Still, thanks for a great day and for letting a Fordie out with you
The Admiral Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Hi Mr RS Yeah - that's a great clip - I think it's Higgie's car? Cheers Rog

Gareth135R Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 From your point of view, what went wrong? Seemed a little slow and undramatic from where I was.... G
The Admiral Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 << Superb?? that what you call it? F*****G amazing car controll is what id call it. Never seen an evo drift as well and as controlled on a track for a very long time >> Thaks m8 Got a lend of Steve's datalogger for a bit of the afternoon (the guy in the slammed black BMW 535 diesel): Wet track - best figures i.e. not necessarily all on same lap: Lap Time: 66.66s Max lateral g: 0.940 Max braking g: -0.835 Max accelerating g: 0.298 Top Speed: 106.9mph Minimum Speed: 32.91mph Can't get the software to overlay this on the video working yet, though... Cheers Rog
Gareth135R Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Agree. Far too late braking on cold tyres. Front locked a little. T'was a scary moment. All I remembered was the two evos coming behind me. Phew! G
Big Daz Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Agree with Scoobylav, I saw you spin too & it looked like power on a little too early while the car was still unbalanced and past the point on no return Didnt look to happen that fast, just no way of recovering it once the back end went. Daz
st3ph3n Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Any you chaps down there when I had my sidewards jaunt?

jcscoob Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 It looks like the RWD cars had a bit of a nightmare stay'n straght !! Kh @ its best ....... wet looks like a great day was had by all, kinda sad i missed it
duke Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 cheers for the pic ian. looks good. the right hander just aftr the dip is my bad corer, tend to brake too late into it and loose the back end, only happened twice on sat the s bend where u clip the curves is my fav, especially when u hit them hard and the car goes up in air - only momen there was a bit of fishtailing after the blue scoob spun in front of me the previous corner and i slowed down, then acclerated through the s'es. just wondering, i do the lap all in 3rd apart from hairpin (2nd) and 4th on straights (change into 4th on back staright just at the mirror sign) , fastest speed was around 115-120 at the bridge - trafficless and all corners wer 40+ - fastest i took dufus was around 63 - but that led to the wee spin. afterwards my mate said he timed a few times and i was around 65-75s. like th sound of this datalogging stuff - where do u get it from and how much? also what mounts do u use for cameras in the car, i have a mini dv camera that i think i'll bring next time - suppose i'll just gaffer tape it to the headrest
stuboo Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 some cracking pics doesn't even look like its p***ing down but we know diffrent nice one m8

I borrowed the datalogger from 535 Steve - basically you plug it in to the fag lighter and duct tape it flat to the dash, and that's it! It uses a gps tracker and accelerometers to track the car, and stores it on a removable PC card thing... It is even better if you hard wire it with rpm, wheel speed, gear etc, but is Cool as is This is it here: Race-Technology DL1 You can then overlay it on top of video if you can work the software (which I can't lol!!) Here's a screen dump of a 66s lap from Saturday - the dots are the start/finish line, the red line gps speed and the black, lateral g - pulling over 1g in most corners!! Screen Dump The troughs in the red speed line are, in order, Duffus, McIntyre, Butchers, Chicane, Clark, Taylors... Knockhill Map: here Cheers Rog p.s. camera mount here - SM1
