Johnny50 Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 << I've seen how Sharon drives, and she's lucky to get as much out of a tank as she does. Foot to the floor until the engine bounces off the rev limiter, then its time to change gear. Good fun though eh! It's just as well you don't drive a turbo Sharon, or you'd be down to a single figure mpg. >> Excellent !! Driven like it's stolen.
oobster Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I've never checked I drive like a 90-year-old though. So probably about 300.
Gumball Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 << drive like a 90-year-old though. So probably about 300. >> do you?
sharon_mccall Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 << Excellent !! Driven like it's stolen. >> Yes thats exactly what it's like LOL
clutdav Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I usually get around 190 - 200 miles on 3/4's of a tank which is my usual refill point and is around £35 - £40's worth. I am getting around 22 - 24mpg which is all back roads and 30 - 40mph zones. So all in I am rather happy with this as the standard 265 bhp STi is supposed to give 25 mpg combined and I have a 300bhp/290ftlbs remap all-be-it with an economy map in 6th gear. Dave
gus the bus Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Me just got 313 miles to the tank which I think is pretty good! (mixed driving!). Sharon, take your foot off the brake when your accelerating!!! Gus

sharon_mccall Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Yes i think you are correct. He'd defo be sick in my motor LOL
st3ph3n Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Does anyone else find the lines just don't line up to what you have left? When mine says 1/2 a tank it really means 2/3 of a tank left, and when it's at 1/4 it's not really, but then below a quarter it seems to drop very steeply until the light comes on. Also, what does the light tell you? Is it 10litres? Mine is obscured behind my R-Vit so I keep having to peek round to see it if I get near the end.
Johnny50 Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 << LOL Gus, maybe i should take peeps out with me to show how fab my driving is! Who's my first volunteer? U Gus??????? >> I'm always up for a challenge ! Do i get to wear a crash helmet ?
Bladerider Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 << maybe i should take peeps out with me to show how fab my driving is! >> I've already been a passenger, and your driving is remarkably good actually. (I promise not to mention you going over the cross hatching on the aproach to the motorway).

D4WGY Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 << It must be my driving then. >> You're about on par with what I am. My best tank has been 240 miles but I usually hit the petrol light at about 190-200 Shep
sharon_mccall Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Shep, this doesn't seem right that we "sport" divers get worse fuel consumption than turbo's! Do you constantly welly yours too????????
D4WGY Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 ha ha, that's what I was thinking too, wish I'd taken the hit on the insurance now Even if i'm nice, as soon as the needle hits half full, it's like somebody pulls a plug out. Balls! Shep
sharon_mccall Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 LOL Shep. My experiment to see how many miles i can get driving "normally" is well fooked, cos i slept in this morning and had to drive "brain oot" Ah, but the fun i had on the wet roads................
