  1. JohnnyR6 - That sounds about right mate. It's the big pulley at the bottom that's causing the bother. Don't think my little Draper ratchet would put enough torque on it to hold haha. I'll see if I can limp along to AWD tomorrow, it's only about half a mile along the back road. Thanks guys )
  2. It will be the power steering belt that's gone then ( Not sure what you mean about the lock off? There's a small space in the pulley that matches up with what seems to be a pin on the area where the pulley slots? Is that the lock off mate? Thanks for the help mate, really appreciated Shep
  3. That's f*cking outrageous mate! Can't believe that, really hope you get this sorted Shep
  4. Hope somebody can help me out. Can somebody tell me, on the EJ20 engine, what is the belt behind the radiator that runs off three pulleys? I'm not totally clued up about the belts inside the engine but the bottom of the three pulleys running this belt keeps rattling itself off and the belt comes off as a result. I can get it back on again and tighten the pulley up using a ratchet set then I can drive the car for no more than about 20 metres and it comes off again ( As soon as it comes loose, the steering seizes and I have to just stop wherever the brakes let me. Anybody else had this problem? The car's not able to be driven a great distance and it's doing my head in! Thanks, Shep )
  5. The Blitz really is the daddy of the back boxes IMHO, however, both my scoobs have had the Afterburner Vortex on them and I reckon they sound the balls. Also think that they look fantastic as well as the burnt tip and angled position look the pooches privates. Shep
  6. Thanks for the comments folks, am well pleased with it Due it's 90k service though which is gonna melt the visa just before I go on holiday! Ah well! Such is life haha!
  7. Afraid the silver classic is in the heavens now Dipsy, however this is a rather tidy replacement! It's in pretty immaculate condition and there's very little that needs done to it. Was just a case of being in the market at the right time as I got an absolute steel with this! Will try the tyre shine next time Iain hahaha!
  8. Well having waited long enough for a nice day to give the car a good proper Shep-style cleaning, here she is folks! 5 hours of washing, polishing, waxing, restoring the bump strips, polishing the exhaust etc..... looking pretty awesome if I do say so myself!! 'Nuff Said! 8)
  9. I can imagine the difference mate! You gonna get them put back on but at a legal transparency?
  10. oh that's a bad one!! Hope you catch the little arse! Some people just have no regard for other peoples belongings! Shep
  11. Yeah that's the very same. Those tints were pretty dark, shame you got pulled for them dude ( I'm the chap that usually waves at you circa 5:30 as I'm heading up the high street, used to have the silver classic, now got a terzo. Shep
  12. Hi mate, nasty story about the tints. Don't suppose you drive the green classic that I see about forfar do you?
  13. Just received a blitz FATT from flat4online and can't wait to get it fitted! Love the idea of setting the timer to keep the car on in the morning, that's ace!! [] Shep
  14. I've noticed a £200 difference by running the 10 month bonus accelerator and yes you get a years no claims after 10 months. Overall, if the equivalent payments were spread out over the 12 months, the 10 month is more expensive if you know what I mean? Monthly payments for a 12 month is less than that for a 10 month but you get the NCB 2 months early. Well, having had a claim this month, insurance for me and the girlfriend for a MY98 turbo is £1200 FC on elephant with me as named, or £1060 FC with Sara! Think I'll go with the latter and buy a dirt cheap car and insure that so I get my NCB! ) Shep
  15. Yeah I don't see that many Imprezas in Perth right enough, see a silver one in tesco all the time and Col's sitting parked up but that's about it )
  16. The car was at Arnold Clarks in Dundee but I reckon the insurance have moved it to a salvage yard. Need to get them to send me the tax disc so I can change the plate then get the car written off. Once I've found out where it is I'll go and see if I can get the wheels. What's your car TayScooby? I'm driving in and about perth nearly everyday, might know the car? ) Shep
  17. Having crashed mine a week ago my heart sunk when I saw your topic mate ( Looks like it won't take too much to fix it and you walked away from it which is the main thing. Chin up squire ) Shep
  18. Yeah it's the unseen damage that's caused the write off. Bit of a bugger. I've asked about salvage and the girl was about as much use as one legged triple jumper! "Erm... no, I don't think you can salvage it.." Arse! Will see what I can do when they're making me an offer on her. Really want to salvage the wheels and get them refurbed for the next car ) Shep
  19. Yeah am gonna speak to them about that and see what the deal is. It has the Prodrive ST2 wheels on it so I'll be gutted if I can't salvage them. Have already taken the stereo out but forgot to take out the V12 amp, grrr!!
  20. Got some bad news folks ( Car's a write off. The damage done to the front end of the body and engine are beyond economical repair. Just got to get my number plate put on retention before the car is written off. Ah well, guess I'll just have to jump back on again. Thanks for all the kind words through all this folks ) will hopefully be out and about in a new motor soon. Cheers, Shep
  21. Very true Alan, am thanking my lucky stars I'm still here. Should have popped over Neil ) The girlfriend said she saw two guys looking over when I was taking pics, guessing that was yourself? Think she said hi or smiled? It's a good feeling to have people being sympathetic and caring at times like this. Thanks guys
  22. Thanks for all the comments folks, it's very much appreciated. It's all beginning to sink in now, just keep staring at the pictures and try to remember exactly what happened but with not much avail. Got to return to the scene and retrieve the fog light covers, wing mirror as reminders of how lucky I am. Shep
  23. Well been down to the recovery yard and arranged for it to be brought to the girlfriends place so will get a proper look at it soon. Here's the damage though, see what you think. Radiator is pushed back hard against the timing belt but engine still works. Had it on for a few seconds before turning it off due to sounding like it was going to explode. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/barry...rd/IMAG0609.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/barry...rd/IMAG0608.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/barry...rd/IMAG0607.jpg Shep
  24. Thanks guys, am actually gonna get it dropped at my girlfriend's place tomorrow hopefully as she has a private, communal car parking area outside her house, if it's proper bad damage I'll just get a car cover for it, all electrics are still working so the alarm will still function. Then again, may just leave it and see how quickly the insurance can come and have a look at it.
  25. 36 psi?? Bloody nora mate! Glad you and your car came off relatively unscathed. I'd be kicking up serious hell about that one. I dunno whether to feel ashamed or privilidged to have sent a Scooby into BMW ditch?? Adrenaline's wearing low and the back's hurting a tad now. Thank god they're robust cars, could have been a lot worse. Shep
