  1. Thanks guys, just completely gutted that it's happened Nevermind though, at least I'm here to tell you about it Police were very dead on with me which made all the difference to how I'm feeling. Not looking forward to seeing her tomorrow
  2. Coming off the Broxden roundabout tonight, inside lane, heading north. Back end decides to try and overtake the front end, front end wanted nothing to do with it so through the back end back to where it came from..... back end decides to go further than it was meant to, taking me up the kerb, sideways with the front wheels on the road, back wheels on the grass, back end sticks, front end spins round and takes the car nose first down the embankment and thanks to the grace of a very kind tree, the car comes to a complete stop. Don't know how much damage I've done but it's certainly not pretty, back bumper is ripped off bar a few nuts holding it on at the drivers side, front is caved in by the tree but looks to be no engine damage. Just need to wait and see if the impact of going down the embankment was enough to twist the chassis. Police and ambulance were there in a matter of minutes, got checked over, breathalysed etc, been told I have somebody looking after by more than a few people. Had a couple stop coz they saw my interior light on and thought the worst. Guy said he was so relieved to see me standing upright. Walked away without a scratch on me. Will get pictures up tomorrow when I go down to see the car. Which brings me on to the question... anybody have a lock up I can store her so I don't have to pay for garage holding fees? It would be appreciated and there would be a massive thank you present in it. Cheers Shep

  16. OK folks, am asking for some advice here please. Have got a week off between jobs coming up and am taking myself up north for a wee breather for a few days (staying in Inverness). Am staying with a friend up there but while they're at work I fully intend on having some fun with my car. Only had it a year and not taken it on a proper drive yet [:$] Surely there has to be some awesome roads up that way that are dying to be driven! Anybody got any suggestions? [] Many thanks Shep

  22. Fingers crossed that's what the problem is going to turn out to be. Gordon is gonna take a look at it on friday night ]" src="/emoticons/emotion-1.gif"> Shep
  23. Ok folks, here's one for you. Was out for a wee country spin the other day, driving along quite happily when all of a sudden my car pulls to the left, and I mean big style! Friend never noticed, he thought I was just swerving to avoid some mystical object in the road. Anyway, had a wee look about, no puncture, nothing caught in the arches........ drove off feeling very confused and very cautious. Felt it a few more time but not as bad as before. Today, just driving home from town when suddenly 2nd gear feels like 4th gear, 3rd like 5th and so on... So, I pulled in and had another look around, nothing obvious, car was sounding perfectly fine. So, off I go and the gears are back to normal again. Stopped at a junction and there's an overpowering smell of burning hot metal, kinda smelled like tar as well. So, I'm thinking "Shit, is my clutch on the way out?" and drive very carefully for the 2 miles home. Had a wee sniff about the car and find that the smell is strongest coming from the passengers side front caliper. Can actually feel the heat coming off it, which isn't unusual I hear you say as brakes tend to get a tad on the cosy side but it was waaaaay hotter then the drivers side. Anybody got any ideas? I'm completely stumped [:'(] Cheers Shep
