drb5 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Have yet to get some good quality pics, but this is my new ride. This pic is from the last owner, but once it's been given a good shimy up, i'll prolly get a couple more up.....if any of you want to have a gander!
jamie_wood Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Nowt wrong with that Davey boy Just think.....you can PASS petrol stations with this baby!! ...............and thats probably all you will pass........... Sorry....only jokin' Happy motoring Jamie
wrxmania Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Nice car Dave - you like it? Test drove one at its launch - I quite liked it. My wife has a Yaris. Brian
drb5 Posted October 11, 2004 Author Posted October 11, 2004 Pmsl, very good lads! 450 miles to a tank that takes £35 tops!!!!! I can't complain there and to be honest, it ain't that slow! Full decat system inc. manifold, apexi filter, tein fully adjustables, c-one carbon fibre bonnet and all the brake lines, discs and pads are uprated! Am one happy bunny considering what i paid for it! Not got the pin ye back in yer seat stuff the scoob has, but it ain't got the probs that are associated with it either!
jamie_wood Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Mate of mine had one with NOS. He was a bit of a nutter though. To be fair, it was a great handling wee motor. Just melted pistons Cant think why J
drb5 Posted October 11, 2004 Author Posted October 11, 2004 HEE HEE HEE! Defo better insurance yup! Group 7!!! Won't be doing anything to it, barr a nice wee front lip, but that will come in time!
evojkp Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 These are sooperdly, chuckable cars. The wife went looking at one of these a while back and I had the salesman squirming at the rate I threw it round corners. The mother in law has the baby one, which still handles well for what it is. I may have mised something, but what happened to the RB5?? That was a seriously nice car. ...John
Carl Davey Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 RB5?? RA?? What's going on Davie!!! Yaris is a cool wee thing though dude.
drb5 Posted October 11, 2004 Author Posted October 11, 2004 Had a rather large falling out with Father, whom i work for at the mo and i've decided to go my own way, do it all on me own. The RB5 was basically a company car......working with the fam has it's assets, but there's only so long you can deal with the problems that go along with it. There was/isa couple other rather point's, but the main thing is, i wanna do it all on me own and with a speeding conviction and a no no claims discount record, it ain't cheap for me! If anyone hasn't got me there, i was on a traders policy.
Marky-San Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 I think it looks like your RB5, only with smaller wheels and no - psssst!! Your more than welcome at my place anytime mate! I like the car - only noticed one this morning on way to work and thought its pretty smart looking. As in, not the SMART car - cause its crap. Take care mate, Marky
DEVLIN Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Not an easy decision to make mate but a brave one at that. Best of luck mate
drb5 Posted October 11, 2004 Author Posted October 11, 2004 He he he, cheers mark! Just hope i made the right desicion, but it is what i intended to go for. And thats too, to you Devlin!
DEVLIN Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Man , I think I would have ate the big humble pie. But thats just me. See ya around mate.
