john_robertson Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Great day out, nice to put some faces to the names. Big shout for Spooks and Rose for doing all the organising and a big thanks to the guys at Dastek for putting up with all of us. Highlights of the day - getting 270 out of a standard UK STi Ricey trying his hardest to deafen everybody in a ten mile radius Spooks shooting some nice flames on his run. Low points - the Mrs is adamant that I need a Blitz NUR Spec - thanks Ricey John.
the squiggle Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Well i hit the highest figure for Air to Fuel Ratio. A stonking 9 to 1, no wonder it was doing 1 mile to the gallon. Power was 250 bhp at 7000rpm, 230 lbs/ft at 4000rpm boost was 1.0 bar, considering the Air to Fuel Ratio im happy enough with after it came of the rollers i reset the ECU and dropped the fuel pressure to standard and gave it some stick on the way home, felt an immediate improvement So i think im gonna head back up sometime soon with the car running a reasonable AFR, a bit more boost and hopefully should get some more power I was originally going through just to watch but as usual monkey see monkey do Good to meet and put a name to a face type thing, Kartman, Wrxmania, Chris Top power figure award went to Playsatan with 320odd horses Guy with biggest grin award went to Stevo-sti, breaking 300 hp with standard car Biggest balls award to DRB5 for strapping down the Yaris, big grins when it flamed on the overrun Grant
wrxmania Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Good to see you too Grant, Congratulations to Stevo on a good and accurate figure - at last !!! My Primera GT made 147 BHP and 130 torque which is spot on the manufacturers figures for the standard car (which it is) - even after 85,000 miles. Going back up on the 13th ( ) to get the Impreza done (Vauxhall day - going early though to avoid the "rush" ). Brian
the squiggle Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 << Damn it!!!!!! more fun missed >> Give me a shout when you get back and the 2 of us can head up, i want mine running better and do it again also think of the bloody money your earning The auto electrician came out to my car when i got home and plugged in his Select Monitor type thing and the ECU was showing -4 degrees of Knock Correction, reset the ECU and it immediatly showed -4 of Knock Correction My factory Knock Sensor is on the Bell Housing and the Knocklink Sensor is on the engine block so i think the factory sensor is hearing noises in the box/bell housing area and thinking its Det thus pulling the ignition timing back, will be locating the Factory Sensor somewhere else and plugging the Select Monitor back in to see if there is any Correction going on as the Knock link is dorment in the majority with only 1 yellow after sitting in traffic for a prolonged period Grant

stephen_fergus2 Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Yup .. have to thank Scott and Rose for helping to organise this , and everyone at Dastek . That's the first time I've been there and have to say it has to be one of the most proffesional + friendly places I've been too . Very impressed with their setup . As for the results ..well , what can I say .. .. wasn't going to come but wanted to get the car checked to see if it was running right ...................... YUP .. it is ! Sorry to see ur car was down Scott .. but believe me .. it didn't sound it !! Was good meeting everyone , new and old ( eh Scott ) faces . Sorry I had to run off ..work called and was running late . Pity I missed the Yaris and others incl Grants rather fruity sounding side exit zorst , H1 SOOBs beasty , and we can't forget the Primera .. Anyone put these up for streaming ? Or mine on video ? Cheers , Steve
sti-zlv Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 So did everyone have fun I was paintballing today so couldnt make it, I had good fun covered in bruises. Looks my car is running ok judging by results of the new age ones, lot to be said for TSL though. Shame about your run Spooks ah well sh$t happens, good result for you though Jamie, I expected nothing less Matt
hugh_dalziel Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Well done Steve! Not jealous at all. I'm going to stop going to these things! Have been having evil thoughts all evening (.....Hmm....AndyF....APEXi....big turbo....decat....stuff the warranty... ). See what I mean? Thanks again Spooks for the hassle of re-arranging today and good to meet you all again.
wrxmania Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 << Pity I missed the Yaris and others incl Grants rather fruity sounding side exit zorst , H1 SOOBs beasty , and we can't forget the Primera >> YES - never truer words - PARTICULARLY THE LAST BIT - Gery had SERIOUS oncerns about whether the rollers could take the strain of the quality Toyota/Nissan cars and as for The Animal !!!! Brian
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 << << Damn it!!!!!! more fun missed >> Give me a shout when you get back and the 2 of us can head up, i want mine running better and do it again also think of the bloody money your earning Grant >> will do mate, will probably be around the end of november, if i can squeeze it in then i may see if andy f can fettle with it too. will need to get willie to make up the snake head aswell.
colin_ross Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Top day out but my ears are still ringing. Will there be another one early next year as everyone I spoke to had plans for more power over the off season?
jamie_wood Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Echo those comments from all. Great day at Dastek had by all I would say. Thanks to Spooks for the effort that was put in and thanks to Gerry for his time. Great to meet every one of you.(Chris, your funny!!) And Scott (Thomohawk), give those guys a hard time at Nobles. Tell them to get their best Prodrive mapper sent up on the next train Right, I'm off to source a better/bigger turbo. I'm going for over the 400 ponies the next time. Jamie
jamie_wood Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 And another thing Spooks....she's a 2003 WRX!! Not a 2001 Its her Birthday this month. Only one candle on the cake. Feel free to buy her a drink, even just a gallon of Optimax would make her feel special. LOL I'm going to treat her to a clutch, cause I fooked it last night on the way home Jamie
drb5 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Jamie Any chance i could get the vid of my t-pot on the rollers, with the DISTINCT flamage?!
jamie_wood Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Morning dave. Remember to put the clock back?? Re the vid footage. I aint got a clue how to get the video onto my pc. Just got the thing and have no idea. If you can tell me then I will make copies for every one and send them out. J
spooks Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 Playsatan im sure that we will be having some RR sessions next year, think we had 2-3 this year so prolly more o the same next, gotta get Ricey after his map, Jamie's after 400 ponies and Im sure loads o other winter mods by folks. Jamie if you do figure oot how to get the vids outa yer camera wouldnt mind seeing it as well, missed Dave's flamage and I hear mine had a wee pop too ( no bloody surprised with that amount o fuel getting flung in lol )....Oh and yours is still a bugeye so I class it as a 2001+ btw Spooks
drb5 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 LOL! If you go through all the stuff you got with the camera, you "should" find some kind of wire that will connect the cam to the pc....maybe a USB wire or summit? There may be a instal driver cd too to go along with it, but i'm not massively technically minded either!
Thomohawk Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Alright all, Cheers for the banter on Saturday - was a good day out! Really wish I'd been able to hang around for the Yaris run!! Anyway, I'm off to speak to Nobles and hopefully get this car into them for a once over.... could be looking to go back to Dastek onec that's done! Laters guys! Thomo.
dave_morgan Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Thanks to Scott, Rosie, Gerry and the rest of the guys at Dastek. Top day and good to catch up with you all again. Happy to see the P1 putting out what it should too, so I'm happy.
