<< excuses, excuses!! face-icon-small-frown.gif although prob not the best place to go with crap brakes face-icon-small-shocked.gif

My thoughts exactly. Do I also risk putting the car off the road due to a blown engine again ...... just for a 4 hr track day nah, I'll keep the need for speed for when the car is good and ready. face-icon-small-wink.gif

LOL Mickey,

We were on the track I think when you spun (Dark blue classic perhaps ??)

John (who I was passenger with) spun at the hairpin and also suffered with vibation & poor steering. He drove to a jet wash to remove the offending mud and returned with no problems. See you tomorrow face-icon-small-wink.gif

What a great time p3dro and myself had on the track. I was only a passenger but what fun face-icon-small-smile.gif

We spun a couple of time, nice graceful stuff. Highlight of the day was having an Evo slowly gain on us and once we let him past he spun trying to get away from us. Great face-icon-small-smile.gif

75 miles from a tank of fuel though..... jesus face-icon-small-shocked.gif

Can't wait for the next one face-icon-small-smile.gif

yeah caz that was me that you saw back in march - how did you get on yesterday, saw your car in the carpark

i had a great day with no spin offs for once - i did 38 miles round the track and only used 1/2 a tank

looking forward to the next one

ps - that escort cosworth stole the show i rekon

The cosworth was amazing towards the end of the session. He normally races in the SMRC Saloons so was either playing or running something in.

Does anyone have any pics of the little red XR2 that was out? I had a good day, hope I got out the way of everyone quick enough lol face-icon-small-smile.gif

Cheers,

Dave.

Kev - if that was ur P1 one mate u get the prize for the best sounding Scoob of the day. Out of the hairpin that noise was mental face-icon-small-smile.gif

The guy in the red WRX looked like he was enjoying himself at the hairpin lap after lap as well!!!

Fingers crossed will have mine out at the next one.

Cheers,

Neil

Thanks to JohnS for organising another great day!!

The old wagon (white one) was going well all day although 18s don't like the wet track!!

More power and bigger brakes......................................(the usual!!)

And as per usual the driving standards were really good although the RS2000 took a while to get out the way on a couple of occassions.

The rs2000 took 3 laps to get out the way for me... aaagghhhhhhh

Didn't know whether I should nip on the inside but I know its frowned upon?

Cracking day for a first time, try to stop me going again

I loved your car Dougster

great feeling watching the Ferrari gain ground and then spin behind me on the hairpin....

Glad you all all enjoyed the day face-icon-small-happy.gif

Couldn't do much about the weather, but at least you got the chance to experience greasy, wet and dry track conditions.

Mark in the Ferrari was deliberately trying to get sideways out of the hairpin, and overdid it a couple of times face-icon-small-happy.gif

The Escort Cosworth was indeed just doing some set-up work, so only a couple of laps at a time here and there. Was certainly going very quick towards the end in the dry line.

The red Impreza was actually Ronnie from Wheels Around (wheel and tyre van) - he said he thoroughly enjoyed himself as well face-icon-small-smile.gif

Roll on the next one on the 24th July face-icon-small-happy.gif

yes, i had prolems with that "Sandy Smith" Escort as well. Just wouldn't move over despite flashing him on every straight for three laps.

Also thanks to JohnS for organising the day. I had a great day for my first time and the quality of driving was excellent around me.

Roll on the 24th.

I'm not going to tell my friends that am I. face-icon-small-wink.gif

Just let me believe it was my superior driving skill will youface-icon-small-happy.gif

Lovely lovely car tho

The Escort was actually being shared by 5 different drivers, who built the car over the winter. For some, it was their first time to drive the car, and first time on track, which although isn't an excuse, does go some way to explaining the situation face-icon-small-wink.gif

Hope to see you all there at the next one - Saturday 24th July, same time, same place face-icon-small-happy.gif

I have an mpeg of said RS2000. Did any of the 5 drivers attend the briefing then?

Pedro, meant to say to you. Did you see me heading the wrong way over the FR bridge first thing in the morning?

I wasn't lost and have a good excuse for turning back!! face-icon-small-wink.gif

I got quite angry in the passenger seat of p3dro's car when we were stuck behind the escort.

I was telling p3dro to undertake the git, just as well he didn't face-icon-small-wink.gif

I turned up for a bit of a socialize. Met a few old faces and a couple of new ones. Had to laugh at Dave sliding the XR2 about and my old pal Jonathon abusing his porker.

Won't be at the next one as I will be off to the McRae stages if I am around.

Posted

yeah i was having a bit crack with the guy in the XR2 and its totally standard apart from a filter and uprated brakes and suspension

cant wait for the next one as will be purchasing better wheels , tyres and suspension as all are standard at the mo!

whats everyones opinion of Koni adjustables on a WRX?

cheers

Hi folks... im new here...

I was watching on Saturday.... i came along with Mark Whalley (Red 355)

I was supposed to be coming up in my car, but have had problems with my alternater, should have the problem rectified very soon should be in time for the 24th!! Incidently its a Vauxhall Nova i have running a 2.0 16v on SBD Throttle Bodies.... i haven't tracked since ive had the bodies on, so im looking forward to its maiden voyage!! It sounds the muts nuts as it now revs to 7850!!

I didnt fancy travelling all the way up from Manchester when then alternater wasn't charging the battery!!

Anyway as i spent quite abit of time watching ive taken quite a few pics which ive uploaded to my web space, feel free to help yourself if your car is on there! Theres 4 videos on there of MArks Ferrari and 1 of the escourt cosworth...

Cheers
