marko72 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Im not normally one for putting down another car, each to their own and all that, but happened upon this impreza, and being a bugeye owner thought I would post this up. I kind of dont know what the heck is going on with this, the wrapping doesnt look that well done, the spoiler, the interior. Have a look, you'll get the gist... blak bug
scouk Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Agree.. if it's wrapped rather than painted then that's a bad idea.. vinyl scratches very easily and any chips will show up very clearly! As for the description, it's like it's describing a difference car.. It's mentioned twice that it has a driver airbag.. Really? with that steering wheel? And aren;t those rear seats from a classic?? Quite like the exterior styling (rear wing not so sure) but would do it with paint and would have kept the rear boot SUBARU lettering. Also the interior changes don't do anythign for the car IMHO.
stum450n Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 That's painted I think - im only on my mobile so can't see properly but look at the boot lid, it's patchy as hell. Vinyl tends to have a consistent satin finish, that looks like the haven't had enough matting agent in the paint mix.
marko72 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 I hadnt thought about it just being painted as it had the matt black wrapped look to it. That sounds even worse. Yeah, classic rear seats if im not mistaken.
StanS Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Saw a Landcruiser wrapped in matt black and it looked great in the flesh. Didn't realise vinyl scratched easily !
davey l wrx Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Looks a bit pricey for a 2002 WRX! The rear seats look like they need replaced and I'm really not sure about the spoiler. Only on a mobile as well so it's hard to get a good look but I'm not completely convinced by the wrap. Still each to their own, someone will like it, I'm sure!
stum450n Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Saw a Landcruiser wrapped in matt black and it looked great in the flesh. Didn't realise vinyl scratched easily ! Depends on the weight used but yeah, it's a lot softer so thin vinyl scratches no end! You can't polish scratches out of vinyl either
rallyfever Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 That garage has a WRX as well in blue that they are trying to sell as an STI - not that good with Scoobs me thinks!!!!
rig-pig Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 wow that looks pish and with classic rear seats wtf a total mismatch
dougieboy Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 looks like a right cheap dodgy paintjob just doesn't look right, would'nt pay that kind of money for the motor either.
stum450n Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Just had a look on the big monitor - definitely a paint job and a bad one at that!)
j wrx tonkins Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) absolutley shocking would'nt pay £2000 for that and whats with the seats its hardly gonna make it anymore light weight!!!! Edited June 7, 2011 by j wrx tonkins
jebus82 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 yes vinyl does scrape easy, unfortunately i know this! pretty horrible car, but have you seen the interior on this one!! oh dear cheers jebus
Ryan@Indigo-GT Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm not liking that at all! I've seen a couple of wrapped cars up close, it does look pretty good, I'm considering having my roof wrapped in matte black vinyl.

maxy Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) i have seen this in the flesh twice now and its worse than it looks it is paint unless vinyl runs something very shifty about it !! steer clear Edited June 9, 2011 by maxy
