scouk Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Abolustely cracking day for it! Big thanks to JohnS for organising and everyone else who helped pull everythign and gave a few extry hands over hte weekend to get things set-up. What a difference it' made on the saturday! I'll confess I'd almost lost interest in Alford, especially after that bloomin big building was put in place a coupel years back But today has really got me excited about it again! Managed to work round the area and get things layed out nicely! Day started off a little quiet but the weather really brought out the people, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.. The head2head racing was great! Nice change to the day! Definately a better day than I expected it to be!!! Roll on 2011!!! Might have the scoob back on the road again by then Got a few piccies and a video from the day which I'll upload later.. ... But more importantly did anyone out there get any piccies of the Ka doing round the tracK on what felt like 3 wheels ?
arch Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 As mentioned above cracking day and big thanks to all the guys who helped make it such a good day. Thourghly enjoyed the day and enjoyed the head to head with Eric Holmes in his time attack evo, track is looking good for the sprint next weekend.

euan_r Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 nice wee end to the day too, what the club should be all about IMHO. quite a few members put in a lot of dedication over this weekend to make things happen.
CJE Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Great day guys and a big thanks to the organisers for all their work. First time for my wagon and me on a track and I totally enjoyed the experience. May have to book a bit of time down at Knockhill to smooth things out, but a great day anyway. Roll on the next one. Cheers Corrie
scooby222 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 great job by every one involved yesterday and today - had a great time, weather was ok and we raised a good amount of money for charity well done to Tam for yet another show n shine victory - thouroughly deserved after driving 130 miles up there in crappy weather with the club stand in the boot and then out on the sprint track afterwards ripping it up -even if he did have to wipe his wheels down between laps bless only snapped a few pics when i wasnt doing stuff but heres a sample doctor coming through the final hardcore helpers it was a hard day in the control booth..... Brian without his new adjustable wing in operation ....
johns Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Was a great day out, weather was 99% fantastic, apart from that short shower when I was stuck at the other side of the track Massive thanks to everyone who helped out on the Saturday and Sunday to get the site set-up, and make sure the event ran very smoothly - it just wouldn't have been possible without all your efforts. The bonus fun track time for marshalls and helpers at the end was good fun, even though my passenger got a little travel sick - a big HP laserjet printer held in by the seatbelt - I'm sure I'll find all the bits eventually I'm just downloading some photos from my camera just now, so should have them uploaded later this morning. Well done to all the show and shine winners - stunning level of car preparation! Even though we aren't allowed to time these events any more, the head to head pursuits added a new dimension to the fun track use and we'll hopefully do a lot more of them next time! We'll mark lines on the track next time in the centre to make it easier to judge the winners though John
brianm Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Very well done to all the organisers on a very well run event! Brian without his new adjustable wing in operation .... It was only a concept...... not one that i'll be persuing further. p.s. If anyone else has photos of me on the track...... could you send me a copy? :-) brianmarr at hot mail dot com Edited July 12, 2010 by BrianM
hosstheboss Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I had a great day, well done to everyone for getting things set up. Felt sorry for the guy in the 106 - gearbox sounded really sick! Like BrianM's "adjustable" rear spoiler set up - "oh f*ck, the boot is open" Hope there are more Scoobies at it next year!!
johns Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I've uploaded some of my photos to my gallery: http://www.flatoutphotography.com/gallery3...php/SIDCGTM2010 Shiny Fast In the wet with slicks on! Big smiles from the driver John
lewisscoob Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 it was a hard day in the control booth..... [ That wolverine from X-men has let himself go a bit I wasnt there long but thoroughly enjoyed my day out, good to see folks again! I really wanted to head out on track but with the carbeing for sale I decided against it. Next year though in something more suited to the job.... Well done to all involved!
Ovv Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Great Day, decent enough weather and some great track action, also was nice to put some faces to forum names. Wish I had come up earlier, esp when the guy at the gate (Sorry didnt catch your name) liked the classic and wanted to put it on the stand. Got about 10 mins or so of some track action, not the best but will stick it up on youtube or vimeo later on today at some point. Didnt take any pics except for one of the classic on the way home. to all that organised, sorry I couldnt stay til the end though for the group piccie. Cheers Chris.

(unless you upload it in HD) would be spot on ether way Footage isnt the best, been a while since Ive had the camera and tripod out so I was a bit rusty, maybe should have practised the day before. Will propably go with youtube/vimeo option due to size, even though its not HD its still a bit on the big side to email. Youtube upload times stink! Ended up with about 26 mins worth of footage, will make a list tonight of what Ive go and post it up and try and get it uploaded as well. Cheers Chris.
