I was noticing that my scoob wasnt sounding loud or burblely ( is that a word! ) enough for me so I spent some time looking on Uratube at clips and checking out what other scoob owners had on theirs. I spotted an Afterburner Vortex backbox for sale on here and as its made by Hayward & Scott for Scoobyworld, I thought that would fit in nicely with my other exhaust parts being Hayward & Scott. Plus I heard that the blue tip gives an extra 0.5 bhp so I couldnt pass it up

Here it is on.

A bit closer, bit mucky but you get the idea.

It gets a good polish and shines up nicely. Have to say my bug now sounds like it should and pops and bangs happily away to itself. I hadnt been a big fan of the jap look before, preferring the straight rolled in look, but this is just so good on. Love it. Cheers to Doublezero for a smooth transaction as well ;)

Every time I hear one of these beasties burble past me just make me want one all the more. Of course you now need to upload a sound clip.

I had wanted to get a bigger scoop, something more noticeable, more aggressive if you like. i didnt quite fancy the blob style on the bug, so tracked down a sti7 scoop in good condition, got it painted and its like new. Here it is going on.

Before.

And new scoop on!

Now I really like this on. I will admit it took a couple of drives to get used to it and to stop looking at it whilst I was driving lol. Big shout to Stewartyboy for scoop fittin duties.

;) I found the same.. You cant really see the standard WRX scoop whiel driving, but the STi one definatey catches your eye more.. Looks better too withouth being the huge postbox they stuck on the blobeye.. :)

Update time. I had been thinking about putting a bigger spoiler on the car, but I wasnt sure. Sometimes I really like the low look, bit different, and when you are at a meet you are defo in the minority. But having said that I had really swung to getting a sti7 wing. For my overall vision of where I want to go then I had to bring in something bigger. I was looking to pick one up somewhere or get a decent replica. I then spied this spoiler last month and although the sti wing was my first preference, I decided to go and get it, and Im sure glad I did. Really happy with this on. Liking the F14 look in the rear view mirror ( keep yer eyes on the road son  ). So up to Stewartys for a fitting...

As it was.

Surfboard off.

Old spoiler lurking in the background.

Now the light was fading fast, so off we go to find somewhere to get a better pic. A short while later, and here it is on!

Side view with Richie's wagon.

And a close up of my new addition.

Some clearer pics to follow soon. Cheers to Stewartyboy again and thanks to Saint Simmo ( Craig ) for a smoothie transaction :)

Great choice of rear wing! Really suits the bugs..

With similar cosmetics changes to what I did with mine, you've definately got good taste :o ... even if I do say so myself ;)

Yeah the view from the rear view is nicer than looking through a open box, but with the height of it it's slap bang in teh line of sight for cars behind.. :) Not really a problen unles the car behind has blue flashy lights behidn the grille that you don't see

Cheers. Yep, having to get used to the height but its all part of it. At night its interesting with cars headlights behind B)

Wee update on what Ive been doing with the car.

I took a few other pics of the car the night I had the prodrive spoiler fitted. Heres some from the early morning on the way home. :D

I got hold of a pair of JDM fog covers. These are in the blue/black colour, but actually look well, black lol. They already had 'impreza subaru' on them in a silvery gold colour. I wasnt sure about keeping the lettering so they have since been removed.

I appear to be going down the black and blue look :P

A few weeks back started getting a noise from the left rear. Had it looked at, no play in the strut etc. Was going to be fitting some rear whiteline goodies at some point, so rear droplinks were fitted.

Nice and manky under there.

The noise didnt go away but is less noticeable now, so maybe thats done the trick. Im waiting on a rear whiteline bar to be available. Should be on shortly. :needpics:

Will update further later tonight.

Update as promised.

I obtained a zunsport lower grille in black, then got hold of an upper one few weeks later. Headed up to Renfrew to get them both fitted on a wed nite. Little did I know it would turn out to be a hard working and rewarding nite (for me anyway lol). Stewarty took off the oem grill, we noticed the sorry state of the oil cooler pipe and the horns, one of which wasnt connected. As below.

hornandpipe.jpg

So horn off to get painted up, hmmm , what colour? Lets try red for a contrast and see how it goes.

paintedhorn.jpg

Well why not brighten up the pipe as well then. With horns painted up.

oilpipeandhorn.jpg

Stewarty fitted the lower zunsport grill. Note headlight removed...

oilpipe.jpg

cos Id gone and decided to detango my headlights...about 2 hours later all done.

detango.jpg

Right then, zunsport top grille on and detangoed headlights back on. Time to stand back and see how it all looks.

frontdone1.jpg

And a bit closer.

frontgrillson1.jpg

Pretty pleased with the nites work, happy Id dot my hands dirty for a change and thanks again to Stewarty. :D

I will post up some pics of the car out and about when I get a chance. Have ordered a nice new 'I' style grille badge.

Cheers for now! :needpics:
