Evening all,

My name is Jason and i put a deposit on a 03 plate Subaru (or soobaroo as im a kiwi) WRX SL yesterday arvo and im really excited about getting it!

I dont know much about the car at all - its my first subaru and turbo car as well but i was very impressed with it when i took it for a test drive.

Lots of toys and mod cons and i have always loved the subaru burble.

Only got a couple of pics but i will be sure to put more up once i get it.

So if you can tell me anything about the car just by looking at it I would be very greatfull.

Great forum btw and i was suggested to come here by a guy on PistonHeads.

Whereabouts are you? Your picture looks more Scotland than New Zealand?!!!

Is the car standard spec?

Your car looks pretty much standard from what I can see from the pic, apart from the mudflaps.

Yea its Aberdeen (well cuminestown - turriff) where i stay but those pics are in the country at my girlfriends parents place.

Haha its not a deadman, but me having a look at something under the dash i guess..?

Don't know what i have planned, as i will have to pay the car off first, think its got the PPP fitted already so thats a good start anyway. Can i ge foglight covers from somewhere?

You can get the covers from the Subaru dealers, I think they are about £60 for the pair, roughly.

You might also want to consider:

1. "De-tango" the front headlights (removing the traingular orange wedges

2. Getting the sideskirts colour-coded

3. Ignore 1 & 2, and just have fun driving it!

Sorry mate ,had to be done.On a serious note though ,get someone to hide all your money/credit cards if you don't the modding bug will find you and bleed you dry......

Oh im not worried about the modding bug, always had it and i cant see it staying away from this car!

De- tango the indicators sounds like a good place to start.

I will have a look at the scoobypedia tommorrow at work so i cant get some more info.

I've already got the huge grin, had it since the test drive. I've wanted a blobeye wrx with the small spoiler for a long time so when one came up at a very reasonable price i kinda didnt need and more persuasion than get to get it! Look forward to meeting you all at some point.

Welcome! is that the one SunnyHill were selling recently with PPP? Was trying to persuade my folks to buy it the other day :occasion14: (didn't get very far though)

ScoUK - It sure was, test drove it on saturday. Went home, moaned to the otehr half that it was a good purchase etc, went back on sunday and test drove it again. While we were in speaking the dealer owner another guy came in and said he was there to buy it and the owner said we had already bought it when we hadn't! So, queue ten mins of awkward umming and ahing between me and my girlfriend before i put the deposit down! Just waiting for the plate to be changed from private to the standard one so hopefully will be getting it soon!

ha haaa! sounds familiar! Bought my bugeye from there 3 1/2 years ago (or was it 4 1/2 years ago..) And took mine out for another test drive just to think it over.. But deep down I knew I was having that car! Didn't want to seem too keen :(

Good guys at sunnyhill motors! there very honest and patient! That's a Cracking car! And good price too!

Willing to bet you wont be able to sleep much the next few days :thumbup:

Also, from the last picture am i missing an air intake pipe? The one that goes into the wing of the car and then to the airbox. Im pretty sure it is, but can anyone confirm?

I am on th look out for a new passenger side wing mirror as the current one is cracked on the bottom and fog light covers so if you have either please get in contact!
