paul555sti Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 A thread from the MLR.... http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=303598 not a dig at you Welsho but i thought you would enjoy it.
StewartyBoy Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) HAHA "Is this a piss take" Less help and more slating on that forum. People need to be told when they've been a knob. In all fairness though, crap design with the set screw and nut. Surely a spring washer would've helped a bit. Thats why they should all be plastic!! Edited January 24, 2010 by StewartyBoy
mystery machine Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) "this has to be the Evo equivalent of the guy on the mustang forum who changed his engine oil then rinsed the block out with a hose pipe! and seized the engine." I remember reading that one - hilarious but tragic at the same time (if it was genuine!) Edited January 24, 2010 by Mystery Machine
stum450n Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 That's hillarious! This has to be the funniest part of the thread though:
wrxmania Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Poor guy! Bet he feels like a total fool. P.S. Should I take off my tyres with a screwdriver before I take the wheel off? Brian
badbaz Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Rockett cover - holy ****! And these clowns are allowed to drive!
mystery machine Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Rockett cover - holy ****! And these clowns are allowed to drive! Guy must think he's working for NASA!
dipsy Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I bet there is quiet a few blokes who don't know what to do under the bonnet
oobster Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Anyone ever read the story about the bloke in America who used a sock as a oil filler cap on his BMW (think it was an M3) and it got sucked down into the engine. That was a funny thread!

That was a funny thread! You know when people type "LOL" but you know they really are'nt laughing out loud. I actually fell off my seat laughing at that post. Why would you think THAT was a good idea!?

Why would you think THAT was a good idea!? I think the guy had been topping up the oil and had forgot to put the cap on and lost it after he drove off, when he discovered he had lost it he thought it would be a good idea to stuff something in the hole untill he go another cap.

My my. How can people be so stupid. I could forgive Welsho for sticking screenwash instead of anti-freeze, but a sock instead of a filler cap. Surely I've now heard it all...

I know of a guy in my village that put a litre and a half of oil into his coolant . He had checked his dipstick and it was low and then decided to pour the oil into the expansion bottle and wondered why the level wanst coming up on the dip stick.
tomwrx08 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 thank god for thick uneducated evo drivers, can u imagine how busy this place would be with silly questions if they owned a scoob
StewartyBoy Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) HAHA VERY true! We once had a guy when I was an Apprentice who had decided to topup his engine oil. Now, bare in mind that this guy owns a 3.0TDi S-Line A6 so I would've given the guy credit for being in a reasonably good job and probably getting there with hard work and intelligence. He complained that the car was smoking heavily and was DISGUSTED that a 4 month old car was consuming such a vast amount of oil and did not expect that from such a brand of motor vehicle. He had topped the car up...to the top of the filler neck. Dipstick? Quite literarily. Edited January 24, 2010 by StewartyBoy
thewelsho Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Jeez I'm not that bad! The screen wash bottle is right next to the coolant bottle which is right next to the radiator cap. I was in a hurry, in the dark, undid the plastic yellow cap and filled it up... Edited January 25, 2010 by TheWelsho

I always check the coolant tank that is bolted to inlet manifold drivers side when cold .They moved the screen wash tank from passenger side strut to the back of head light on the hawkeye models
