Joe G Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Welcome to the world of subaru's chocolate rear shocks!! I went through 2 sets in the space of 12 months and 7000miles. Got fed up with it and opted for a set of BC coilovers. Good thing with them is you can adjust the dampening and on the softest setting it seems actually softer than the original shocks. I got my last set off ebay for £220 for the pair brand new. If i was you id go for coilovers, will save you money in the long run! Joe
jimmy_AyrshireScoobs Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 got mines replaced 4k ago and they are knocking already..i would see the point if i was thrashing it all the time but i dont really.i would advise you to uprate to stronger ones as the standard ones will break again and again.
sti pretender Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I serviced mine and got rid of the knock, just a case of stripping and re-greasing. My rears started knocking 2 months after I got them replaced. Theses a thread on here I used.

sti pretender Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Found the thread http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=135219 Just used LM grease from Halfords, no knocks or creaks since doing it.
johns Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I've heard a few who have done the strip and pe-pack the grease fix, and it seems to work just fine. Much cheaper than buying new shocks.
WRX04 Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks for the suggestions gents. Will give the shocks a service and see how that's goes then fallback to coilovers if they're properly goosed!
