Choices, Choices.. some thoughts on new wheels

Ok, with the VF34 on now im needing a little more rubber to be in contact with the road (good excuse eh? )

May have the chance of some 18" wheels soon, just wanted to see everyones thoughts as I cant quite make up my mind yet.

My wheels will be for sale very shortly if your interested.

Compomotive MO's 18" with Goodyear Eagle F1's that have plenty life left in them. Quite rare and very strong wheels, retail at over £800 without tyres, looking for £600 ono

Very nice and a bloody good price!

Hawkeye STI though, thats 5 x 114 PCD, my WRX which has 5 x 100 PCD.

gold is rally slag, grey are street racer

You have got a point there, "gold is rally slag" but a rally slag wagon?

I like the sound of the "street racer" kinda sleeper look, grey maybe goes with the black grills and splitter better?

But then I do like the design and size of the gold speedlines??

I actually really like it with what its got on :rotfl:

Yeh, std. alloys are fine and the quality of the Vredesteins (215/45/17) are great, couldnt fault them at all until now, since the new turbo went in, if I press the "fun pedal" while cornering or on a bend, with the huge amount of torque (382lbs/ft) I can feel the tyre wall flexing and come back and its a bit scary, so im thinking wider tyres 225 and less profile 40.

just to mix things up like the speedlines but in black, think it would set the car off, or the black innovit's with the red rim to match your undertray

Both have crossed my mind, not sure how much it would be to get the speedlines properly powder coated / redone in a gark grey / anthracite?? Anyone any idea?

Did think about the Redline Innovits too but wasnt keen on a black wheel, means I would have to keep the tyre walls clean and shiny all the time as I didnt like the look when the wheels themselves were more black than the tyres ( if that makes sense!?!)

Smiler AS,

You'll be £40 a wheel to get them powdercoated from a place in Inverurie called PPS - they're seemingly very good. I've got a set of Rota GRA's in anchracite grey on my bugeye at the moment and intend swapping my front wheels to the back sometime this week - so if you want to come down and try them on your wagon give me a shout.

Hey Smiler,

Since your a dab hand with the old photobucket, stick some 18" white speedlines on this bad boy and show me what it looks like fella.

Hopefully gonna pick it up early this week if it is as good as the guy says, would love to put the Roget Clark Gobstopper graphics on it too for a bit subtle bling - if you have nothing to do you could always try and put some on the pic too to see what that would look like!!!!!

Cheers gadge
