  1. My old 2002 STI came with an Rac Trackstar as standard
  2. Picked these Speedline Turini's up yesterday from a fellow forum user on here -spent all last night machine polishing them to get rid of surface scratches and decided to colour code the centre caps to suit the RB's colour scheme.Have to say i've picked up a great bargain with thses ,Cheers again Graham. Getting them fitted tomorrow ,then getting the Original RB alloys refurbed at a later date- although ther're in good condition ,just a couple small chips on the paint that's annoying me!! Here's a pic;
  3. Used the steel wool with a spot of Autosol on it ,takes all the tar ,blemishes off it,then buffed it with a microfibre cloth.
  4. Thanks Bobby, couldn't make it this year due to changing my work rota and other commitments-pity as i really enjoyed last years run.
  5. Cheers Barry ,yes got my mug in Total impreza -claim to fame eh!!!
  6. Kestral dual action polishers are good and you can't really damage the paint -so worth the money in my mind .
  7. After spending a small fortune on polish/machine pads ,etc, etc at Polished Bliss a few days ago thought i'd better put them to good use today .Started about 09:30 and finished at 5pm.Snow-foamed twice ,washed and dried then used Mezerna finishing polish on a light cutting pad with my Kestral dual action polishing machine which got rid of a few minor defects/scratches in the paint.Finished of with Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection .Used Wolf's Chemicals Nano Wheel Cleaner (Clean & Coat) on the alloys -this is the first time i've used this and it's an excellent product.Tyres shined up with Autoglym tyre dressing, backbox cleaned with Autosol polish and a wee rub with fine graded steel wool.Although a lot of work i'm really pleased with the outcome, cheers.
  8. Have you considered BBS CH style alloys ,get them in various colours and look a really nice wheel http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/subaru-18-bbs-ch-style-alloys-5x100-et45-/110661527396?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item19c3f0e764
  9. Cheers Matty, not had the RB out much during the winter but started using it this month and still loving every minute of it - just with it being 'black' it's a nightmare to keep clean ,the building site across the road from me doesn't help ,half an hour parked outside and it's covered in dust....
  10. Done this last month Bobby and really enjoyed it but like you i thought it was well over-priced for what you get and should've cost £70-75 in my opinion.
  11. Cheers Del ,still feel like ..................35
  12. God i miss the RA,but it's went to a good home,Craig this was my plan when i bought the car but i liked it too much to start stripping it,this should be an excellent track car once your finished, hope it's stilling running okay ,got a bit worried when you posted on here looking for locks and ignition parts!! Good thread to start and i'm looking forward to updates.
  13. The scooby has been tucked up in the garage for most of the bad weather ,but had it out this week and it didn't take long before it was dirty again so had to get the snow-foam out and give it a bit of a clean/polish,here's some pics; my ninja backbox fitted a couple months ago and sounds much better than the standard Prodrive one! Trying to show the multi flake colour of the paint; Alloys - a complete b*gger to keep clean & shiney; Comes up with a good shine !
  14. Good to finally see some pics of the RS Bobby -looks braw ,the RA is looking minted as always.
  15. Got the rally day booked for next month so i'll let you know how it goes, spoke to a couple guys lately who've done it and they said it's great fun.
  16. It's not so much an engine issue ,more of an ECU issue i believe. I had one before i bought my RB320 and after speaking to a few people about the issues with the Hatch i gradually lost confidence in them,Subaru will cover you with the warranty ,it's after the warranty runs out that worried me. Just my opinion.
  17. I think HT AUTO'S might do one,the OEM splitters from subaru are well over-priced
  18. If you give Halfords your paint-code they mix up paint for you,you should find it under the bonnet near the top of the passenger -side strut. If you don't want to use halfords there's a company called 'Dr Colourchip' which are based in the States -they are very good ,used there kit on my old classic and colour match was perfect. Here's the website; http://www.drcolorchip.com/
  19. GOD, When will the fighting and bickering ever stop ,i'm not surprised the thread got locked if this is the way people act on an adult forum ,looks like it would be better sited on cbeebies for the kids!!!! I started coming on here nearly 2 years ago long after i bought my first subaru ago and browsed through the forums looking at what was going on and what was being said and to be honest the way some people act on here only justifies why i haven't to this day become a fully payed up member as i think there is too much bullsh#t and too many ego's for me...... I think the current change of person(s) can only do this club good (not taking anything away from those who have done so much up to now)as it was looking like it was going in the same direction of another familiar subaru site (s/net) and i think not one person would take away the hard work and dedication of the people in this club both past & present, but please for the sake of 'SUBARU OWNERS OLD & NEW ' can this site move on and upwards. I hope the SIDC can move on and continue to be a good place for people to join and contribute to. This is only my own opinion after all it is a 'forum' not the 'OSCARS',thanks.
  20. Sorry it's 4 pots painted a yellowish colour.
  21. Looks a minted classic with a nice bit of 'history'.Just out of curiousity -is that Brembo front calipers i see or is my eyesight going???
  22. Mate, i've got an RB320 and the subaru front splitter has the STI badge on it ,if i needed to replace it i'd go for the cheaper one as i don't know how Subaru can justify nearly £500 for a piece of plastic!!!
  23. Have you tried Elephant or the 'Post office' for insurance quotes,Had my Type ra insured with the Post office in my missus name ,she has 6 years no claims,no points and i paid £210 fully comp ,that was with declaring exhaust and alloy mods.
