z1000 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I've been working @ a garage doing some holiday cover the last couple o weeks so had a chance to do a bit to the scoob Holes in the boot welded up and filled, bonnet changed and sprayed matt black 2 see how it looks ?!, front grill changed to match the lights and new bonnet as well as changing pads for DS2500's and a well deserved oil change Did most of it myself including the welding and some of the spraying (not the bonnet) and was pleasantley surprised as i've never tackled them before and managed not 2 feck it up ! Still planning a full respray later in the year so thought the black bonnet was worth a shot as its easy enough to change if i didn't like it but i think its kinda cool
sake-bito Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Do the whole car matt black and it'll look brilliant! STOO
z1000 Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 No offence but that looks hideous!! None taken i realise there's many folk who can't understand a scoob without a spoiler etc but each to their own. I personally hate all the wanna be rally cars stickered to the hilt and just wanted to try something different.

No probs subaru GFX and stupid mudflaps aint my thing either lol The bonnet is just too dull and lifeless without the scoop or bonnet vents, looks like a sport, mind you if you sprayed it the same colour as your car it would be the perfect sleeper lol

sparky_sj04 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 That looks good mate. Different but good. What front splitter is that mate? Did you paint that as well as the bonnet?
braveheart Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Diffrent indeed my friend erm not keen on the bonnet, like the splitter tho looks good what sort of power is it kicking out to be a sleeper... Chris.

cullenmin Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I like the matt black effect on a whole car. Handy being able to work on your own car in a garage Rich
jonboywrx Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Ive always wanted my car re-sprayed Matt black or Satin Black... so i think it looks funky!
mystery machine Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 The bonnet is just too dull and lifeless without the scoop or bonnet vents ... if you sprayed it the same colour as your car it would be the perfect sleeper

Auldy Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Like the bonnet, car looks smooth without the vents - defo summit id do if fitting a front mount.
scoobysailor Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 MATT BLACK FOR SURE! Get the whole car done mate! I agree - MATT BLACK all over would look magic ........someone on here was talking about doing it last year but I don't know if they went through with it or not.
z1000 Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 Looks great, really really good............have you done the boot too?Nice to see someone following their own path The boots despoilered and holes filled but still needs painted but leaving it til i do the whole car. Thanks for all the comments, i just want to try and be a bit different and not as obvious but the clues are there if you know what to look for in the rear view mirror ! Not sure about the whole matt black idea but certainley not ruling it out as i hate polishing !!!

thefastone Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 It looks different, and I'm not against it, different is good, its what you like at the end of the day... I like the bonnet like it is, but then I also think that the whole car would look ok too... Only thing is, matt black is a piggin nightmare to keep... it'd be ruined in no time...
