scouk Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) 'The Riverside Museum, designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, is due to open its doors in summer 2011.' Credit crunch or not.. st3ph3n Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 The transport museum is still well worth a visit where it lies at the moment. Can't wait for the new one to open though.
thefastone Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I can agree with you there Stephen, Its not bad, not as good as Alford though If I'm honest, but then I've not been in either in a few years...
st3ph3n Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I'd say that neither were worth more than an hours drive, but if you're passing ....................
murtayamartin Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 at least it has ended up somewhere where the public can see it rather than private collector but where is it till 2011? martin
scouk Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 at least it has ended up somewhere where the public can see it rather than private collector but where is it till 2011? martin It'll probably be getting karted up and down the country by the McRae Vision Charity to help promote the charity so will be viewable till then.. They had it as the Northern Big One a few weeks back
RA Dunk Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 at least it has ended up somewhere where the public can see it rather than private collector but where is it till 2011? martin Ask Squiggle, he`s bound to know for sure
the squiggle Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Ask Squiggle, he`s bound to know for sure possibly Knockhill this Sunday for Classic Speedfair then Chester then touring cars at Knockhill. Personally wanting to head down to Rallyday at Castle Combe to hopefully see the Mk2 in action. Will be good having the car on display at the new museum on the Clyde alongside such iconic cars as Jackie Stewart's March F1 car. The cars will be rotated regularly to keep the display fresh and hopefully the souviner hunters will be kept at bay
RA Dunk Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 possibly Knockhill this Sunday for Classic Speedfairthen Chester then touring cars at Knockhill. So when will you know if its going to be there or not grant? I might just take a wee turn down, was actually half thinking about going to the speed fair anyway but this would make my mind up
