paul555sti Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 On our last stop ( and possibly the last time Tam will speak to me ) we stopped off at the David Stirling memorial, he was the founder of the SAS. We met a guy who was taking pictures of the memorial and he got chatting about our cars. He offered to take our picture with the cars. He was the owner on the BMW in the shot beside our cars.
sczscoob Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I like that last pic Paul. Tam, what were you thinking!
lewisscoob Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Well thats me just in the door, cracking weekend, thanks to all involved, and also to Lewis and Brian for the craic over the Lecht on the way home! Banter! Just need me dinner now! oh, and to look at my pics! Here here Dale! Who knew a 12V corsa with 4 people in it and a young lassie driving could hold you up for so long! It gave me and my 2 f**ked calipers time to catch up. Maybe once I sort them out, i'll be able to keep up! As a bit of a newbie to this SIDC malarky, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and found you all very friendly and welcoming. I will certainly try to make it along to as many meets as I can in future. Added thanks to Paul for the new calipers, discs and pads!

thefastone Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Hi Barry, that would be Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most famous visitor attractions in Scotland, Never been in, but been past loads of times, anywhere in that part of the world is worth going to see for the Scenery alone... http://www.eileandonancastle.com/

micra_wrc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 great pics dale. take it the clamp you had in the inside of the car swivels, for those rear on-the-road shots?! and what is my pose all about in this one - John Wayne indeed
Maxxed_Ross Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 looks like a fantastic trip guys. gutted I'm stiff stuck offshore or I would have been there too Some of us were not so lucky, this after a lorry forced Hoss off the road... that's shocking. Should have made a rolling road block and had a group beating
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Dale, that second group shot is the dogs...........what programme do you use for editing your pics?
thefastone Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Cheers for the comments. Just Lightroom2 Andy, not quite as advanced as the Full photoshop, although I have that too, but its fairly flexible and easy to use...

Aye, it was a great weekend all round, spoiled a wee bit for me with the puncture but hey ho that's how it goes sometimes. Great pictures folks, pig sick i missed most of the run. Took me almost 7 hours to get home with a pit stop in Huntly to get rid of the curry! Was passed by a guy in a HiLux towing a caravan just outside Kingussie - oh the shame of it........ Anyways, new tyre on order and then i'll get the suspension etc checked out but i think it's OK as it didn't fall to pieces on the way home. And get this - i was stopped, TWICE by the local constabulary on the way wondering why i was going so slow!! FFS, that's a first!! Anyways, hope we can do it again some time and my best wishes to Jon and Debs.
thefastone Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) take it the clamp you had in the inside of the car swivels, for those rear on-the-road shots?! Of course... Oh, and edit to say, you should see the full size version, your face is a picture in itself! Edited May 5, 2009 by thefastone
thefastone Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 And get this - i was stopped, TWICE by the local constabulary on the way wondering why i was going so slow!! FFS, that's a first!! You just cant win with these people! Dont envy the long, long trip home like that though, so many good roads and temptation, but not being able to do anything about it... Its bad enough having to drive to Aberdeen from Glasgow on a space saver, as I had to do a year or so ago... at least there was no corners to contend with! it was just dull, but having to cope with the handling round some of those roads... Nightmare! Glad you did get home ok though!

Nightmare! Glad you did get home ok though! Aye, it wasn't much fun i can assure you - thank christ I had BrianM's double Top Gear driving music to listen to, again, again and again! Went straight to the local and got absolutely fcukin hammered and felt dodgy all day yesterday - what a great weekend! Edited May 5, 2009 by hosstheboss
micra_wrc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 aye glad you made it home safely Hoss we also had to take evasive action to avoid that flatbed lorry, Grant had to steer half the Banana on to the gravelly side of the road, we were lucky to scrape by with no damage.
hosstheboss Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Aye, the grinning ape at the wheel pi**ed me off as well, looked like he was enjoying every minute!
paul555sti Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Aye, the grinning ape at the wheel pi**ed me off as well, looked like he was enjoying every minute! I stopped to let him through and he gave me an ear full
bobbyc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Aye we had to pull right over for the recovery wagon as well. The only other muppit we ran into over the weekend was coming down through glencoe a guy in a merc insisted on drifting into the middle of the road everytime we tried to overtake what is it with these people.
thefastone Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) I stopped to let him through and he gave me an ear full he gave you an earfull? We also had to swerve right at the front when he didn't stop in the passing place like he should have done... Does anyone remember anything about that wagon (Garage names etc?), he really should have gave way, don't know how he thought that he could justify ploughing through like that when he had passing places to stop in... it was just plain obnoxious, and to be honest a little bit dangerous. Stopping one lorry, versus stopping 23 cars, is a no brainer really... Muppet! Edited May 5, 2009 by thefastone
