  3. Well having just joined the boys in blue, quite a few of my colleagues seem to find it amusing to rib me for my "boy racers" car, but that's as far as it goes really. It's always nice when the folk that slag you off ask you for a shot erm............... no! Cheers, Shep
  4. Gorgeous car you've just bought mate, welcome to the club Shep
  5. OK, I'll admit it............I was jumping up and down when the video got to 9minutes! Just incredible driving! Shep
  6. Thanks for that bud I had the scoob over on the Isle of Harris last summer and drove up and through Skye but didn't really have time to stop and admire. Think a road trip is order Cheers, Shep
  7. That looks like an awesome trip you folks had What castle is it that's in the photos? I'm gonna have to pay a visit now, it's incredible Cheers, Shep
  8. "Get out of me way pleeeeease!!" Ever so polite at times isn't he?
  9. I like the spoiler! And the outrageous claim that the back seats have never been sat on! Shep
  10. It was the flexi line that went. Not being that clued up on the old mechanics of the brakes am not sure if that's a good thing it was only that that went or not. They had it sorted within a few hours anyway. The car had braided hoses on when I got it but it's only the front that have them now. Apparently the same must have happened to the other rear as the mechanic said that was just a standard one as well. Will probably get around to getting braided put back on to the rears but I'm just glad I can stop properly Cheers, Shep
  11. It certainly raised the bpm by a few counts that's for sure. Just got a call from the garage. £100 for new brake line plus bleeding of all 4 corners. Score!
  12. Well was travelling into Broughty Ferry yesterday afternoon to see a man about a dog blah blah blah. Driving down fairfield road (pretty steep brae for all you non-Scumdonians out there) when my offside rear brake line decides it doesn't want to be stay in one piece and splits! Lost all pressure in the braking system and the ever pending T-junction at the bottom is giving me the evil eye. So much hand braking and down changing followed and a swift wee prayer to the big chap upstairs and the road was clear at the bottom and the speed was slow enough to let me take the turning. Ended up having to get the old pick up truck to take me to the garage where she's getting fixed just now. Moral of the story: Always take out RAC cover a week before anything goes wrong with you car! Saved myself £200 on the tow. Hoping the damage to the wallet ain't too bad when I get her later on. Stupid bl@@dy thing!
  13. Well I gave her a good warm up this morning and she's running no bother. Am going to stick it in to the garage for a wee diagnostic just for peace of mind I reckon Thanks chaps Cheers, Shep
  14. It's running a panel filter mate, not sure if the resonator is off though? TBH, don't even know what that is haha! Would it be pretty obvious is the MAF was needing a clean? I mean would it be visible? Shep
  15. It's a Terzo mate. What's a CEL? I suppose the fact that I didn't see anything come on would suggest that it didn't, but you never know. If it is the MAF is it an easy fix or will it hump the old credit card? Shep
  16. OK, I'm stumped! Just took it for a spin, no troubles, no coughing, kangarooing, BOV working fine etc... Stupid damn machine! Thanks for the advice though chaps, car must have just been in the huff! Cheers, Shep
  17. It doesn't actually, I did notice that. I turn it on and it sits at just over 1k and then when i noticed the problem, pulled over and it was below 1k and kept rising and falling every few seconds. It drops to the point where I think it's going to cut out then picks back up again. Daft thing! What could that mean? Cheers, Shep Edit: Just read your post properly, do you mean can I rev it normally on idle? I'll give it a check and get back to you
  18. The BOV did go off most times, but there are times when it didn't, maybe there wasn't enough boost in the turbo but that seems unlikely. Will need to take it out later on and see if it's still doing it. Rather annoying I can tell you. Have not got a boost guage unfortunately, I'll have a look at the vacuum hose, take it that's the thin line that runs into the BOV? Not very techincal at these things Cheers, Shep
  19. Hey folks, got a bit of a problem here. Was driving the car this morning and it seemed pretty sluggish. Felt like it was going to cut out on me at some points. Whenever I put the foot down, it wouldn't pull as it should, instead deciding to kangaroo me along the road for a few seconds before picking up. Interesting to note that the BOV didn't go off when at around 5-6k in 2nd, don't know if that has anything to do with it. It's had a new clutch 3 months ago and the brakes aren't binding as I thought that was the problem but they seem fine. Any ideas? Worst case scenario? I'm completely stumped. Cheers, Shep
  20. Just read this start to finish and i'm completely amazed at the work you're doing on this mate. Terrific job! I found it hard re-fitting my bonnet catch, this takes it to a whole new level haha! Awesome thread, looking forward to the next update Cheers, Shep
  21. That really is a lucky escape you had there mate. As people have said and it can't be said enough, cars can be replaced, you can't! Chin up squire, that's why you have insurance! However, try a bit of T-Cut before you claim.... maybe......just maybe..... Cheers, Shep
  22. Saw a pretty mangled blue Spec-C this morning going up the hill from Perth Broxden heading towards Dundee. Think it was a Spec-C anyway. Seems like it may have been rear-ended by a transit and been thrown into the crash barriers at the side Didn't look too healthy that's for sure. Hope it's not anybody from here Hope nobody was hurt either Cheers, Shep
  23. That's gorgeous! I'm turning a slight shade of green, I'd love a black hawkeye, beautiful cars! Cheers Shep
  24. Just started back on this site after a few months off and mate, I honestly can't believe the hell you're going through. What I can't understand is why you were banned when all they have to go on is witness reports? That's ridiculous! It's good news about the reprobate getting caught and dealt with accordingly but you've been shafted by the sounds of it Gutted Glad you're on the mend though bud Shep
  25. Really can't say a bad word about the F1s JC. Awesome in the wet and the dry. Cheers, Shep
