done some quick changes to DIY catch can...

Using an ebay catch can now (still very small, and with quite small bore inlets! BUT i have used some 22mm reinforced hose (same as Skyline) for the breather pipes (but had to reduce to meet catch can etc) This should slow the airflow/oil vapour down once/if it comes out on track - meaning hopefully less oil wasted in the can

and and another look at the discs on the Impreza.... oh dear. Good job we towed that car home from the last trackday, as the brakes felt warped but there were no visable cracks at the track (must have happened when cooling)! 2 cracks clean through the O/S disc, and 1 on the N/S.

Front Brake spec

Standard discs using STi 4pots, Carbotech XP8's and a brake MS booster

Need to look into going bigger :D I think Snetterton would have done the damage, and Crail just pushed them over the edge.

All those late breaking manouvers you pulled on me at crail wont have helped. My brakes took a fair hammering also will have to get my disks skimmed before fitting the new pads. Fee mentioned you used a lot of oil. Have to admit i lost a bit but im guessing that is out the leaking crank seal.

Susp - I'll be getting new susp for it in the next few months... I want something decent, and the car is track only so... Circuit focused susp is a must. Any thoughts... I cant afford (or dont want to afford) much more than £2000, within that price range!

Other susp parts... I have just bought the following whiteline parts..

Anti lift kit, Roll cantre kit, Drop links front & rear and Rear diff lock bolts.

The ALK with give me a bit more castor, but i'd like more adjustabilty still - Anyone got feedback on whiteline control arms? I would highly recomend Exe-Tc suspension. You should be able to get the 1 way adjustable for your budget. Graham Gleeson who runs the company is very helpfull too. A whole load of other guys in time attack use it. AST is also supposed to be pretty good.

Car looks great in the new pics.

Have you read the thread, looked at pics ??

I'll take your money, but I wouldnt want to rip anyone off HeHe. 1 damper appears to be leaking (not confirmed, could just be mucky), and they are an old non-dampning ajustable TEIN coilover (Sports Spec, Driving Master Type HR). They are actually OK on the road, but my preferences may be different or more tollerable than yours. They are firm, but not crashy. I dont know what the spring rates are but i'd suspect something like 6kg/mm

Maybe best to come have a look at them once they are off.

is that jut the 'fast road' spec ones? They come in at about £1700+ vat + topmounts etc

Yes. Thats the ones i use and also Russ from Wallace Performance.

Also Dynamix runs with a set of these too, Think JohnSt and RCM also use Exe-TC but they have the more "up market" spec ones ;)

Firstly...welldone on the scooby v skyline day Adam.Nice result.

I'm planning on using exe-tc next season.

Let us know how you get on.

I have not heard much about them. From what i have heard they are ok. Think they are german?? The problem is that whats good on the road may not be good on track.

Aye... forgot to say HotBits LOL

ScoobyClinic use them (on Kev's TA winning car, Andys LMA car), and DCY had/has them on barries TA evo.

split the old 'spare' engine... did a good job on the bearing on No2. And the main nearig has bearig material welded to it. The rod and cap are a bit out of shape too, they dont slide back together

Nothing else really wrong with the engine, crank will be scrap of course.

pistons in great condition, bores are ok... no gouges etc

Not going just for the name... been looking for susp for weeks and speaking to folks that have tried and tested various susp on impreza's ... everyone seemed to say the EXE TC's were the setup to go for.

I would have gone for TEIN's if I had been left to my own devices (actually more expensive)..... Tein RS Circuit Master (same as we have on the R32 GTR)
