scoobysailor Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 My rear suspension has finally given up (surprise, surprise!). I have been toying with the idea of replacing it with TEIN superstreets. Are they any good for general road use? I am used to a pretty firm ride ( ) as I have PRODRIVE springs fitted just now. Anybody got any suggestions who has them fitted.......

scouk Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Just to add another question on the same topic. How reliable are they really? Anyone broken a set yet, after a few years? Naturally they will wear our eventually, but has anyone managed it yet?

I dont have the mounts, just the standard set ups though the stiffness is adjustable by hand. I'd wouldn't recommend them purely for road use.
scooby222 Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 have a look at the bc kit in the group buy over on snet, had a set on mine for a couple of months now and am more than happy, reckon the ride better than the prodrive springs 90% of the time
Frank_STI Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 i have the full setup on superstreets (including topmounts) and not any complaints, very firm but worth it for the handling. i keep mine on the mid setting all the time
little vodka goblin Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I've only had mine on for a week but I'm more than happy with them so far
stuarted Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 had mine on for about 6 months, fairly stiff ride as noted above. Night and day between the Tein and P1 standard suspension that I though was quite good. Got mine on the softest setting for road use and it's fairly easy to live with. Hardest on track is great fun!
RATechnology Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I've found over the last few years that TEIN seems to be on the hard / rough side.. Made for nice smooth Jap roads and great on Race Tracks! Just not particulalry comfortable on the UK roads... Then again from some of your comments maybe i'm just getting old and can't take the rough ride!! I'd look into various other options AST's are very good and as they can be supplied through PowerStation you can have them valved and sprung for rough UK. Prices on those start from just over £1K.

scoobysailor Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Took the plunge when I got the chance of a set of nearly new TEIN Superstreets (3600 miles) from a car at SW Motorsport. Got them fitted today and already I am well chuffed with them - need to get my geometry sorted before I throw it about too much Cheers for all the advice......
