Big 'D' Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) Hi all As I am sure most of you are aware now that the McRae gathering will be taking place over the last weekend in August, I would like our next meet to be aimed at attending the gathering. Details to follow Cheers Iain Edited August 8, 2008 by Big 'D'
Big 'D' Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 Hi all some info on the McRae Gathering. In order to attend this gathering you must first register (Register Here) and order a McRae Gathering sticker (Link to McRae Gathering online shop) which IS to be crearly displayed at all times even if you are just joining a short part of the convoy and is a MUST to be allowed entrance to the Prodrive sites at Banbury and Warwick. Most of the information you need to know for both days can be found here (McRae Gathering FAQ) If you are interested in attending, or have already registered from Oxon, could you please list your names on this thread so I can arrange when and where we are heading off from Many thanks Iain

Cheers Iain

Cheers Iain Makes sense, definitely a good spot to meet. Perhaps the car park for the hotel opposite may be a better option though so we don't upset Shell on what's potentially going to be quite a busy day for them anyway? Just a thought. Stu

HairyDJ Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 We're both down on Grant's list as marshal dudes for the Sunday, so will be there way before the convoys. Probably going direct to Warwick, rather than via Banbury. See you there, but only if you've got that sticker on and clear to see Also a reminder to all the folk who have spare stickers to pass on to others - the Gathering Team need to be given the same full details of each vehicle as we had to supply when we bought them - reg / model / colour / driver name / contact mobile is what i can remember? Cheers, David & Chrissy

Cheers, David & Chrissy Hi Dave and Chrissy I am sure that you will keep everything in order on the Day. You should get no issues from us Oxonites...... I hope. Is there another way of registering your details other than on the online shop page ( Click Here For Online Shop ) as it looks like these are details you submit as you buy the stickers, or can you put your details through on this page with 'zero' items in your cart? There is another registration site but I think this is just to keep track of the numbers attending ( Click Here For Registration Page ) I will try my best keep everyone up to date. Cheers Iain

HairyDJ Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) More info about registering details for stickers that are passed on or moved - lifted from replies in the Kent section today :- http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...0&start=140 micra_wrc said: you would have got an order number when you ordered the stickers in the shop - have a look for the confirmation email you got from the shop.If for whatever reason you cannot go and have found a replacement to go in your place then we must get the vehicle details of the new fella. Prodrive and the police forces have asked us to keep an attendance list, primarily for health & safety but also as a way of tracking folk down if they misbehave (which I'm sure you guys wont ) It is also to avoid what happened at the RB relay - Prodrive were expecting 150-200 cars, double that turned up and our contacts got a bollocking from their H&S and risk people on the Monday morning. I know that people are already starting to swap over stickers etc but you must drop us a line with sticker order no, reg no of orig car and details of new vehicle. I dont need a full history of why you cant go/car decides to go poop/wife dragging you to a family do etc etc, keep it simple edited to reflect Andy's stern warning and Andy said: Anyone doing this - the person who takes your unwanted stickers MUST register their car details with us. I cannot stress enough how important this is. Given all the police negotiation that the guys have done on this project, lets make sure we don't let them down by not bothering to notify. Also suggest that with all of the ANPR vehicles that will be out & about escorting the convoy, you avoid using non-standard number plates however pretty / posy they look. Shame to miss the event whilst they stack you up in a layby processing paperwork for ages Edited July 30, 2008 by HairyDJ
