Someone suggested mandatory use of punctuation. I'm all for it.

So far you've come up with "a projects thread". As stated we have a superior alternative. Oh, and I talk "pish". I know that, in fact everybody knows that, but you're out-pishing me right now.

im the pish master in this club! ive more than 6000 posts of it :)

This post is so funny due to the fact i have a recent post with a problem, which has been replied to by several helpful people, though if i am honest i would have thought it would have been read more and/or had more replies. However after around half a second of thought i realised that i was only on here right now as I HAVE A PROBLEM otherwise would be packing and organising for my imminent (spelling?) holiday. I am therefore even more appreciative of the people who replied to my post and tried to help.

what exactly is it that you would like us all to be talking about on here? Or have you posted and no-one seems interested?

It just seems you have set off on an immediate hostile footing for no obvious reason, no?

You really have had a sheltered upbringing Welsho :)

I think you only need to look into the McRae Gathering website (run by Andy) to see the dedication to the Subaru brand and those that made it it what it is today.

Andy (and others) have put a lot of effort - A LOT of effort - into what will probably be the largest Subaru meet in Britain ever (although everyone taking part wishes they didn't have to be there at all if the events of earlier this year hadn't happened).

To criticise this site and those that go that extra mile to do things for the club and it's members is just not on.

I thought about responding comprehensively but it's as simple as this :-

"if you're into it, yer into it , if yer no' yer no' "

I sometimes dont post for weeks and then go on posting orgies - nature of the beast !

Lot's of people scan read as well.

Cheers

you are all quick at answering on this subject the truth about this site its been going down hill for a while why should we have to make suggestions about what would be done its common knowledge look at the ayout of passion ford its got a dedicated thread for projects etc this site is still in the dark ages a few people on here have there heads up there rear it was said to me bye 1 member its full of plastic faces on here

Everyone else has been quite eloquent in there replies to you mate, however i doubt you'll figure out what was being said to you. I however shall come down to your level, if you're not happy here then p"ss off, maybe get yourself an xr3i and head over there.

I've been a paid up member here for a few years now and have found pretty much everyone i've met either online or face to face at the meets to be a good bunch of people.

I choose not to post up very often, prefering to lurk more often, but if i think i've got something worthwhile to say then i will say it.

P.S. try using the 2 buttons to the right hand side of the letter M on your keyboard.

rant over

If this site is dead, then tune in to whatever else it is that your into. It's a big www out there...your choice.

The forum is quieter, there is no doubt about it. I posted as much over a year ago, shortly after the off topic section was added as I'd noticed a drop off in the number of new threads and responses to threads.

As I see it the forum will get quieter still. Massively increased running costs will see many current owners sell up and with plummeting values the new owners will be more likely to be less inclined to spend on and mod their cars. Why make a car that is prohibitively expensive to run even more uneconomic and prone to failure?

Is this the end of the SIDC though? I think not.

What will be left is the hardcore, committed enthusiast. Look at 22b, hardly a massive daily post count their but one of my favorite forums due to the in depth knowledge that can be found there. I've started threads there asking a question and not had any response ti it but I'd be inclined to believe it's because nobody knows the answer, not that people just can't be ar$ed to post up. I'd rather that than a long list if "I don't know but I'm sure someone will" replies.

In a nutshell -quality not quantity.

Aye, I've not been posting on here for ages either, but then thats a lot to do with my work and the millions of things that I seem to have to do when I'm home...

But then when I do come in here I always try to get round and be involved in as many discussions as I can, and more importantly, get out to as many meets and events as I can, as thats where the best bit of the SIDC is at!

What I do think puts many off coming into here, and joining in, is posts like these, Like Neil just said, these are the reasons that he posts so rarely anymore... and I know theres quite a few other members that you just dont see anymore for the same reasons...

As its been said in the past, if you have a criticism of the site then do something about it, make a suggestion, or to put it a better way...

PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

I seem to recall this being said to Andy though, and look where that got him!!!! :)

p.s. criticism is a good thing when your positive about it, and trying to make it better instead of making derogatory comments.

To be honest, this club/forum is the best thing i've been involved in, and i was involved in a few car manufacturers websites previous to this one. It maybe the boys from the Moray region being very welcome and very helpful with anything Scoob! :D.

But quite the whinging and go buy yourself a Ford!! :)
