scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 After a wee mishap with a lorry on my way up to Hypertech last week which meant I needed to get my windscreen replaced I decided to put on a sunstrip and some wee graphics, rebadge the boot and put some (old) new wheels on. What do think - do you think they suit the car? I like them so they are staying on......at least until the Winter.
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 Very nice You weren't joking when you said they were a bitch to keep clean
paul555sti Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 You weren't joking when you said they were a bitch to keep clean Give them a good coating of wheel sealant and you will be fine.
micra_wrc Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 like the wheels, needs mud flaps i think had to lol when you said that a standard repair-of-windscreen led to all this other stuff getting done
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 like the wheels, needs mud flaps i think had to lol when you said that a standard repair-of-windscreen led to all this other stuff getting done It was a nice day, I just kind of got carried away....... Mudflaps and a front splitter are next on the list, I just need to check the clearance for getting into my garage with the spltter.
thefastone Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Hmmm differnt.... looks not bad... but what size are they? are they only 17"s.... I think that 18" may be more your flavour.... Ha, yeah looks good mate!
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 They are 17s but that was through choice, a combination of 18s, Prodrive springs and South Lanarkshire finest roads would to TOO bone rattling!!
jamesm Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 They are 17s but that was through choice, a combination of 18s, Prodrive springs and South Lanarkshire finest roads would to TOO bone rattling!! Can't be any worse than the roads in Renfrewshire! Nice looking Bug. I'd definitely put some flaps on.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 looks good, just needs the side skirts colour coded.
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 Ha Ha, looks like a set of mudflaps is next on the list then.........
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 looks good, just needs the side skirts colour coded. Already thought of that but I think I will leave them black with black flaps and a black front splitter.......each to there own.
j10 dly Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Already thought of that but I think I will leave them black with black flaps and a black front splitter.......each to there own. Looking really nice mate, really suit the car. I agree with the leaving skirts etc black, I done the same with my silver classic (black skirts, black flaps & black splitter) think it looks good with the contrast. James
steveairdrie Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 looks good mate, a quick question about the silver grilles where did you get them?? cheers steve
scouk Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) That looks pretty smart actually!! Had a few suggestions of white wheels and thought nah, but actualyl that' looks pretty neat! All hail the red Bugeyes! I agree with the leaving skirts etc black, I done the same with my silver classic (black skirts, black flaps & black splitter) think it looks good with the contrast. IT's an all or nothing affair... If you only colour code part of it it' looks crap from the side, the lines don't flow properly..... Leavign them black shoudl go well with the bright wheels! IMHO Edited July 23, 2008 by ScoUK
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 looks good mate, a quick question about the silver grilles where did you get them??cheers steve Steve, they were on it when I bought it, if you PM JCSCOOB on here he should be able to tell you where he got them from.
colzo Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Thats one of the nicest non STI Bugeyes I've ever seen. I'm not a fan of white wheels but they suit the Mica Red really well. As for mudflaps I would suggest black Prodrive flaps as they are more discreet than others.
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 Cheers for all the positive comments ......
C_WRX Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 (edited) Agree, they look good on there. Edited July 24, 2008 by C_WRX
