zeolite Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 (edited) Blimey thats the scabby old purple 32GTR that sits outside my window! Chavtastic! There had better not have been any "models" sitting on it or they would have been chased by the owner. Edited July 21, 2008 by zeolite

Big Gordon Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nice pics, my mate owns the green Pontiac GTO . Took him nearly 18yrs to restore it
RS Grant Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Big Gordon said: Nice pics, my mate owns the green Pontiac GTO . Took him nearly 18yrs to restore it This one: Had a look around it when I was inside, was very very clean looking.. different set of wheels and it'd be spot on IMO. Cheers, Grant
p1ggm Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 agree with grant about the gto, looked stunning thou and on a low note, i really liked that corsa, the quality of the paint was amazing, and its like no other corsa i have seen before, which is hard to do.
pmacFTO Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 How can you seriously call that a top 50 car? I looks like the bodykit is polystyrene - so many hard edges and no flow to the kit....flared arches I like but they just look like boxes painted in glitter and glued to the body....the wheels look stupid set away back like that....seriously - why spend what MUST have been a lot of money to do THAT to a 406 (I think!)?
thewelsho Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nice pics. Some hot cars and some hideous monsters! Loving the silver Bugeye with the black roof and bonnet and also the orange Bugeye.
RS Grant Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 The dashboard hadn't escaped either... think it was completely re-done and although I never had a close look at it, I'm sure it was pretty 'unique' too. Cheers, Grant
wulsey Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nice pics! I enjoyed this show yestarday! Wasnt at all what i expected!

bigbird Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nice pics, but my own favourite had to be the ford capri with full "general Lee" graphics.......
p1ggm Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 the dash in the 406 was actually done to a very high standard, the whole car was tbh just a pity its just all so so wrong
st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 By christ there's some ugly cars there. Was Stevie Wonder judging? That gold digger thing - is it a pug? Can it generate enough power to move itself and the other car worth of MDF strapped to it? I love the paint though! If I ever needed to hide dodgy blend lines and panel gaps that landrover would send back then I know that I'd go for cheap whore gold fleck. Celica - looks like it had an accident with a tin of yellow dulux. I just don't understand some of the modifying scene in this country. They can't make their mind up between show, go and sound. You can't have it all so why try? Pick a style and go for it - rally slag, street racer, show car, audio car etc. etc. Ugh.

I can't understand all that audio gear in a car, really, what purpose does that serve? Wouldn't the sizeable wad of dosh required to buy all that useless cr4p be better spent on performance or cosmetic mods? Maybe its jsut me, but how loud does a stereo have to be - ridiculous!

st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I understand it John. If you do a lot of miles then get a nice audio setup installed. I even see the point of the competition stuff. It's as pointful or pointless as any other competition anyone else takes part in!

Nice audio is one thing, going to excess for excess sake is another thing entirely. Granted, performance mods and cosmetic mods can also be excessive to the point of being rediculous - just look at that 406, that is the cosmetic equivelant of the audio example - shambles! Performance mods can be used on track and the strip etc. at least they actaully have a purpose. Edited July 21, 2008 by TheWelsho
st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 What's the point of a car that can do more than 70mph when you can only really use it on track? It's horses for courses. Big audio is not for me, but it's for some people. My point is that you can't mix them all together - ungainly bodykits + big ice + performance mods = a champion turd.

I said that perforamnce mods have a point becasue the can be used on track, but what does REALLY loud music acheive? Zilch. Furthermore, you may only be able to go at 70 legally, but there is no law agasint how quickly you get there! So, performance mods DO actaully have some point in normal cars.
