scouk Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Sorry to hear that mate! It's never possible to please everyone everytime (Ohh that almost sounds kinky!) In my view, you are a great ambassador to the Scottish Scoobies! And would be a shame so see you stand down from the R/O position...
micra_wrc Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Simon, dont be a fool its a difficult job and most folk dont understand the time and effort it takes in organising events for everyone to enjoy. chances are, the folk you cant please/are moaning are just that... all talk and no action. I've realised that its the same names and faces that are actively getting involved in the club and there are very few folk willing to step up, take the initiative and actually do stuff for the benefit of others i'm not wanting an argument or to open up a can of worms... this is just my opinion, I'm speaking from experience
mikeyb13 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Sorry to hear that mate. Only met you the once at Crail but you seemed a genuinely nice fella. Took the time to show an obvious newbie round your amazing car then thrashed me down the strip My mates slag me off cause Im still always banging on about it. Seemingly Im in love with you? You made my day mate, reconsider
RS Grant Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Aye, its a thankless task.. which is why I've been reluctant to put myself forward for it in the past and tried to support the people that are RO for the areas. You do a good job mate, make all the new members feel welcome when they show up at the meet and have genuine enthusiasm for Subaru. Have yourself a wee beer and chill out. Cheers, Grant
RS Grant Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 You do a good job mate, make all the new members feel welcome when they show up at the meet and have genuine enthusiasm for Subaru || \/ Took the time to show an obvious newbie round your amazing car..........You made my day mate You know, some people would get tired of being right........... Ive really not been up to speed on ANYTHING recently with being away for work and all, I'm still a bit out the loop... Think that its crap that you want to step down dude, As has been said you are a bit of an ambasador for the cause, and it would be a big loss if you were to stand down.
paulc555 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Whats happened Simon...you never mentioned anything when we met last night to hand over the equipment.........????......though your right its hard to please everyone...think all us RO's have been in that position SEVERAL times..........makes you wonder what to do eh...
stubaroo Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) After the weekend and the Show on at Ingelston i am resigning as reginal organiser for Fife.It seems that no matter what you do you cant please everyone . Game over Higgy Did someone beat you over the head with a stick, ya big loon!! I still feel like a newbie in this community, had the scoob less than a year and been going to meets since the start of this year but I can clearly see you are a big figure in the SIDC world. You made me and Lindsy feel most welcome from our very first meet, don't know what you are talking about half the time but it is done with barrel loads of enthusiasm. Edited July 18, 2008 by Stubaroo
andy Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I've not met you - which is a bit crazy considering you are my regional RO! I do, however, know you by reputation and believe you are one of the good guys I know exactly where you are coming from. Last week I HAD to take some time off from the whole Internet/Subaru thing because of the hassle involved with the McRae Gathering. People just don't appreciate the time it takes to organise things and the work involved. They're very quick to criticise, but wouldn't put their own cock on the block to do the job. Take some time out - chill out, drink beer and get away from the shit for a few days. Worked for me
scoobysailor Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Higgy I've only met you once at the highland run and you seemed a genuinely nice fella (in a hetrosexual way of course, not wanting to go down the road of mickeyB ) It would be a shame for you to jack it in.
