colzo Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Not the greatest of pics that I took a few weeks back but thought I'd post them anyway. Tried to capture the reflections on the bodywork which looked really good in the metal considering the colour. All done by hand using Swissvax products. Comments welcome. Cheers for looking. Colin
Frank_STI Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Stunning mate! Cracking reflections for a light coloured car!!
scoobyiain Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Super clean car bud. Give it another coat of wax for a little extra depth. It is hard to get good reflections on that colour but you have done well.
braveheart Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Wow shinny shinny my friend fantastic job..... Regards Chris
Frank_STI Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 What swisswax products did you use? I'm looking to expand my collection ever growing collection

It is hard to get good reflections on that colour but you have done well. Cheers mate that means alot coming from a detailer like yourself. Noted about the extra coat of wax. Looking very good. And all by hand too! Not brave enough for the Megs 220 yet. What swisswax products did you use? I'm looking to expand my collection ever growing collection After claying the car I used Swissvax Cleaner Fluid then Saphir Wax which has 40% carnauba. Thanks for the comments guys. The car's going up to Polished Bliss in August to sort out a few minor imperfections, then its just a case of keeping on top if it after that.
scoobyiain Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 If you have a megs 220 do it yourself instead of going all the way up to polshed bliss. I will come down and give you some pointers if you like?
oobster Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Looking very shiny Colin Ever considered getting the windows tinted?

Cheers Iain, but I considered buying the Megs 220 then thought better of it. I've had the car booked in since March so don't want to let them down. I've noticed now a few members are using the machine polishers with great results. Trust me if I do get round to buying one you will be the first one I call. Thanks again for the generous offer.
colzo Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Looking very shiny Colin Ever considered getting the windows tinted? Cheers mate. When I first considered changing my last Impreza I saw a picture of a Type 20 in Crystal Grey with the rear windows tinted and that was how I wanted mine. I'm one of those funny buggers who is very picky with who works on my car and after seeing my mates tints with loads of bubbles (that have still not disappeared) I quickly went off the idea. I've been wanting the Prodrive Grill for 2 1/2 years but I'm too scared to drill holes in the bumper! Don't even mention de-tango!!!!
oobster Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Magma in Bathgate done mine - £40 per window I think they charged. They've done my previous 2 cars + the Mrs previous car so thats 4 cars I've had done with them and no complaints. I know what you mean though, I am always worried when I drop the car off anywhere to get work done.
nkwrx Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Lookin purrty nice ther mate I used machine polisher for the first time yesterday Colin and am really chuffed with my first attempt tho I was cacking it a bit before I started. It was having seen the results achieved by others here( nod to ScoobyIan ) that made me have a go.. But no arguments with what you achieved by hand on a difficult colour!! Kevan

colzo Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Great job Kevan. Were you using the machine polisher to get rid of swirls or purely for shine?
nkwrx Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Great job Kevan. Were you using the machine polisher to get rid of swirls or purely for shine? More importantly John my car won't be able to keep up wi yours on Thursday Colzo, getting rid of swirls was main reason for getting the polisher(UDM), but totally convinced by it now for shine too. Thanks for the nice comments too chaps
thewelsho Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 More importantly John my car won't be able to keep up wi yours on Thursday LOL!
