kloon Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 . . . . Petter was this happy ? Good start for the new 2008 WRC Impreza, hopefully a sign of things to come
euan_r Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 certainly an excellent start for new car. still doesnt look right though
marky.t.s Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 lol,he was like a big kid with a new toy,he sounds even more excited in the interviews, the start of something good we hope. yeah the absence of a bonnet scoop and no more SWRT stars and swooshes graphics on the side looks a bit odd.
colzo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Well great result for the new Impreza and Petter. Hopefully the 2nd place will build the teams confidence and get them back to their winning ways.
scouk Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) yep! so far so good... Not getting too excited yet though... NEw cars/drivers are often good for the first roudn out of the box in motorsport! In saying that it was a very tough rally! and Atkinsons car didn't fail it was damaged so a good early result. Looking forward to further good results.. 1-2 result in a event by the end of the year? WOudl be nice to see SUbaru back on form! Edited June 2, 2008 by ScoUK
colzo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Threads merged seeing as we had 2 of them! Never saw the first one....
scouk Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Never saw the first one.... Me neither.... subject never caught my eye enough.....
colzo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Me neither.... subject never caught my eye enough..... Me neither. I prefer to get straight to the point with a thread!
thewelsho Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Well great result for the new Impreza and Petter. Hopefully the 2nd place will build the teams confidence and get them back to their winning ways. For Pete's sake! The way everyone is ranting about this, I thought Subaru has won the WRC title! Talk about overreacting!
colzo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 For Pete's sake! The way everyone is ranting about this, I thought Subaru has won the WRC title! Talk about overreacting! Its as good as a win consindering the luck Petter has had. (I put it down to the unreliable Hawkeye eh John )
st3ph3n Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 New car on the hardest rally in the world and it comes in 2nd. You better be damn sure that's a cracking result. Fair enough the Fords fell off with troubles - but Petters times were decent. A minute behind after nearly 4 hours of racing. I'd take that any day of the week. Can't way to see it in Finland Gravel Spec and belly dragging Tarmac spec in Germany. Wonder if Petter can beat this - /

scouk Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 but Petters times were decent. A minute behind after nearly 4 hours of racing. I'd take that any day of the week. Yeah, but I wan't to see the days back when Subaru was 1 minute infront of everyone else...
st3ph3n Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Yeah, but I wan't to see the days back when Subaru was 1 minute infront of everyone else... Hopefully that's what happens when they've had more than 1 outing with the car!

I'd take that any day of the week. Can't way to see it in Finland Gravel Spec and belly dragging Tarmac spec in Germany. I think Petter backed off at the end as well as he definitely wanted to finish. I agree, roll on Finland to see if the speed is there and Germany to see how it really looks in Tarmac form.
jamesm Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 The original Impreza came second on it's first world rally (1993, 1000 Lakes) and we all know what that went on to achieve. So second for the new Impreza on its first time out is a pretty good beginning to build on!
