When I did the map Google routefinder reckoned roughly 430 miles on the planned route. However, that route isn't set in stone at present and may change after the recce is done ;)

If you need any local recce help before your dry run, then shout out Andy!

You certainly can't trust the Shell site to lead you to the right fuel - similarly with some of the sat nav POI data - Hilton Park is supposedly hosting Shell & BP both sides of the motorway :D

The one thing to know for sure is that Banbury has no shell anywhere near - even some that seem ok within 15 miles or so are a beggar - the A34 SW bound from M40 J9 will send you halfway to Oxford before you can turn around and head back.

I would guess that your last motorway fill-up would be about 80 miles before reaching Prodrive, and the run back north may be a similar distance before you link up with one on the motorway.

Hopefully some of the Banbury locals can give us heads-up on camera locations and favourite mobile spots as time gets closer.

If nobody closer offers themselves, I'll check out any locations down this way that might help with the master plan

Cheers, David

Hey there, just registered for the trip down to Prodrive on the official site. Was looking at some of the possible accomodation, and was wondering, (this is probs a silly question) do the caravan parks have static caravans etc on site that you can stay in or are they just for people taking their own caravans. :P

Thanks for registering on the site, helps when we get closer to the time to giveus a rough indication of numbers

May have to phone the Caravan Parks concerned to see if any of the owners of the statics do 1 night rentals

Wondering if anyone has thought about getting clothing made for the day, was thinking of getting a t-shirt made up, Don't know who run's the SIDC shop or if it inappropriate for them to distribute, but could SIDC raise funds from t-shirts. I attach a link to the site where I created my t-shirt. I'm sure many people will have there own thoughts about what they would like on there clothing.

Hey there, just a quick question for those staying at "Bicester Cherwell Valley Travelodge M40" I have been looking into booking a room here, and the price that it came to is £40 for the room, It will be myself and a friend staying in the room, just wondering if you know if that price is for both persons or individually. If not I will just contact them myself.

Thanks

All Travelodges are per room, not per person ;)

emailed this message to the mcrae site,

phoned barnstones caravan park and they sold out for 30th aug, the nice chap said he has a rally on in his field and its taking up alot of his space that weekend. he said to try bo peeps as its only a mile along the road and a far larger site.

phoned bo peep caravan park and i was the first enquiry he has had for sat 30th. he said he has plenty space and would not mind if i added his park to the forum for other users
