scottstiprodrive Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 I moved from Kirknewton to the Isle of Man 4 years ago.The Airfiled is not disused. There is an Air Training Corps gliding school who use it every weekend and have done so for many many years, there is also a small flying club who use it most days. Richie camp no longer exists, it was knocked down and cleared. The land now has £million+ luxury homes on it. This i know mate as i stated lived right next to it, the hangers where the gliders were kept backed on to my garden. That never stopped us from using it when they werent there. The police used to use it also to train there dogs.
cupradave Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 You were lucky then mate, I know loads of people who have been strung up for messing around in cars on the airfield as it is MOD property even to this day.
jamie_wood Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) ?? Scott, Jings. You got shot down there matey You should have posted a vid of you driving through the town with your dump valve going "woosh" every ten seconds. Its probably more acceptable Play it safe and just cover your car in "rally" stickers and post a piccy. Normaly works a treat.......for some reason Edited September 14, 2007 by HI SOOB

Some of our farm was actually within the airfield so never had any trouble being on there even when i used to take the old 4-10 out and shoot a few rabbits down towards kaimes quarry end.

As long as it's safe and not on the road , what's the problem ? Looks like you got the hang of it too lol
boris b Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I tend to agree Jamie. As long as it's safe and not on the road , what's the problem ?Looks like you got the hang of it too lol to a certain point... BUT..... if someone does complain.....( There is always someone passing ), as i said earlier there could be an ASBO coming your way. 2 complaints and your car could be going Time and place for everything i say.

the squiggle Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) Well I'm afraid I can't say anything as I've done it to. It was a crail but not exactly in a designated area. I take it all the guys who've done similar in a snow covered car park are not going to have a pop at the guy are they? Snow chance Although i prefer to do donuts on Bowling Greens as it is less stress on the CV's and Gearbox Edited September 14, 2007 by TheSquirrel555

oobster Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Well, since I was one of the ones to condemn you for your youtube video, I'd like to explain why I did so. Basically it was because I see an erosion in the news and with friends & work colleagues attitudes with the marque - and I think it's down to the 'boy racer' image that Subaru gets nowadays, which I attribute to videos like yours appearing on youtube (amongst other things). Sure, there are probably very few of the members on here that don't fully exploit the performance of their cars when conditions etc are appropriate but there are many many small-minded people in the world that would interpret your video as boy-racer behaviour. Perhaps, with hindsight, my 'Idiot' post was a litte strong and I apologise - I was more annoyed that the video was on a very popular website than is likely to get viewed hundreds if not thousands of times than I was that you had actually done the doughnuts in the first place (which, by the way, must take a certain amount of skill & that I wouldn't have the confidence to attempt). I'm proud of my Subaru and as such I don't want to be labelled as a boy racer when I'm nothing of the sort.

As the vid goes its actually been on there for some time now.Iam sure if anyone was appalled by my actions then surely they would of left a bad comment about my behavior by now. This post has kept me entertained for the day as i had to take the day off work to look after my son and i must say if you would ask me if i,d post it again then the answer would be yes. No offence was meant to be taken from the clip.I did not expect some of the responses that was left but as ive said everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Its been very entertaining... Cheers Ps should of called the thread gonuts at ma donuts
