Subaru Owner Beware

thanks for the warning.

Its worrying that you think the police aren't interested.

Have you told them what you know? Seems like you know how this gang operates and where they take the cars.

would be worst nightmare hearing it start up outside the flat..

Would they even take the tracker fitted ones? My phone should ring if the car moves without the key.. of course, if they have the key then thats different.

If the police are saying they are not interested i will have a word with my good friend in intelligence and see what he comes up with. :)

Hmmm worrying to say the least...

But then remember that some one was talking about the car-jackers in glasgow using the scoob...

seems that more and more we are targets of these *Insert expletives here*!!! :)

Not good.

When you say the police aren't interested, do you know if they've been told?

We get that a lot, 'What you doing about etc etc'. When we say we didn't know and

ask if they had phoned in, they would be like, 'Well, don't like to grass' etc :D

At the start of each shift, things like stolen cars are read out to the shift so I'm sure they

would be interested....especially the traffic.

We also have an intelligence database that action plans for such things can be based upon.

They obviously need caught! :)

my car was also tryed with this mob but they failed ########

:)

How did they try? I'm always telling folk about the fishing rod through the letter box trick and

to have the keys away from the door. If you have one, keep the house alarm on at night.

It's those little things that only take a minute to do that you sometimes can't be bothered with

that might make the difference.

My car always goes straight in the garage (lucky to have one) with a steering lock, Tracker, garage

locked and a Garage Defender that they would have to pull concrete up to get rid of.

Hopefully I'd hear that!!!!!

hi guys the police have information on the gang i cant really go into to much detail on here but beleive me i gave them evidence of the gang in one of the cars and they still couldnt do anything its a joke this gang will steal your car even though it has a tracker they will strip the car until they find it and go to anymeans to get it the cars they are stealing arent just imprezas its mercs bmws jeeps etc the cars are being driven about atleast 24 hours with the old registration plate on before its changed i am telling you all this because like myself i have had enough of it its time to act upon it ourselfs cheers evokiller

In this day and age and all the technology we have there are still people who want what you have and will do anything to get to it. I had an old XR3i years ago and had clifford alarm and the such, cars were going missing from the morola car park in bathgate where i used to work and each night this black granada followed me home! I thought it was coincednce!! Well one saturday night i stayed at my mates house to be woken up by banging outside, I goes to the window and heres 6 guys round my car trying to steal the wheels and anything else they could get there hands on, called the plod but they were no help so i chased them away with a table leg !! Anyways to cut a long story short lol when i got in the car and drove round corner here was that black granada sitting, so they had been watching me for weeks waiting to pounce. I never leave the scoob anywhere now even tho its got a tracker and cat1 alarm and immobiliser, its just these small petty mined idiots who want to wreck what we all work hard to buy.

Rant over !!!

I find it hard to believe that if the cops had sufficient evidence to arrest and convict this gang that they would not bother their backsides. I assume that at the moment the evidence is hear say, and nothing solid.

My car is always garaged at the house, and I am very aware about leaving keys in sight, both house and car.

Unfortunately this is a more common occurance and way of stealing cars due to the security these days.

Keep safe all!

Same with any nice motor, but in reality it is probably only a small proportion of motors that swiped. To be honest though, if someone was intent on getting it and broke in to the house looking for the keys whilst I was there, then I would give them to them. A car can always be replaced.

I was tailed by a Shogun not so long a go late a night all the way from Cumbernauld to beyond Hillington. No matter what speed I went at this guy would not pass me. If he had followed me all the way home then I would have taken the registration before losing him on my local back roads and heading off to the cop shop. He eventually peeled off the motorway on his own accord and was more than likely completely innocent, but it does make you think.

I phoned 999 whilst following a stolen subaru about Glasgow one afternoon a while ago. I told the 999 operator the details of the car and exactly where I was and in what direction I was heading. Unfortunately I lost the car, but continued looking for 3 hours, not once in that time did I pass any other police cars in that area.

This happened nearly a week after the car was reported stolen, and it was still being driven about on the original numberplates!

What's the point in contacting the police if they dont do fook all to catch these people!

I know someone who had her car stolen when she was in work. What the person done was follow her when walking her dog, waited for her to go back home and sneak into the house when she was in the shower to take the keys. When she got out the shower and was ready for work she just thought she had mis-placed her keys and grabbed the spare set. The guy then followed her to her work and then took the car. Poor girl never knew her car was stolen for the 8 hours she was in work.

I love owning Imprezas but hate the paranoia that comes with them. Someone stealing your pride and joy is one thing, breaking into your house to take your keys is another. Society sucks these days. :icon_salut:

I know there is a gang operating out of Cumbernauld, who regularly head through to Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Stirling. They do the old 'through-the letterbox' hook technique or, if you leave your house door unlocked they will just walk in, locate your keys and they're off in your motor. They are very organised and they have been arrested and put before the courts in Stirling. Sadly, for some reason, the sheriff decided to bail these scumbags, so they could carry on their car theft business. Do you think they're going to turn up at court for their trial? No, neither do I.

The police (or at least me anyway! ) do take an interest in nicking these scum and please believe me, if a call ever came through to us in Stirling that a stolen car was being driven in our area then everyone and their granny would be gunning it from wherever they are to catch the car. Okay I may have to drive a Skoda at work but I still drive it like my scoob! Sadly, most of my day, like many other cops, is spent dealing with absolute crap which shouldn't even be getting reported to us. For example, yesterday I had to waste 30 minutes with a woman who was upset because her son fell out with another lad. She had gone to see the lad's father who said he would ground his son. The woman's complaint to me was that the father had allowed his son out to play when he promised to ground him. ;) A police matter? mmmmm Nearly all the crap calls are from the same morons we end up locking up. It seems we (the police) spend 90% of our time running around on behalf of the 10% of anti-social non-taxpaying scumbags of society. All this time the scumbag car thieves are casing fellow performance car drivers' houses

Sorry, rant over :icon_salut: I don't think I'll ever be allowed to be an AFO anytime soon!

A slap on the wrist and community service isn't going to stop people stealing. A bit of middle east justice would work a treat, chop their hand off (or at least a finger) for being a dirty thieving scumbag.

Controversial but guaranteed to reduce thefts drastically. :icon_salut:
