About kenny4130

  1. I remember when I was totally new to Scooby ownership. I phoned up AWD and spoke with Grant and Andy. I then went up to see them and they both spent a fair bit of time with me explaining all the options available for upgrading my car's performance. They explained the costs, and worked out a plan so that I could upgrade things in stages. They couldn't have been more helpful, and their expertise showed when I got my car back from them - a very different beast which could (and did) embarrass many a so-called supercar. I can only imagine that a busy open day wasn't the best day to expect to spend some time with the guys. I'm sure you'd have found things very different if you'd just popped in through the week, or phoned and arranged to visit them to discuss what you wanted to do to your car. There's no way Grant or Andy would knowingly ignore a potential customer, after all AWD is their livelihood. I would give them a call and go up when they can spend some decent time with you. I have to agree with superstar tradesman regarding SIDC, his first central meet was mine also and everyone was very friendly. Like I say, an open day probably isn't the best time to be making sweeping judgements about the Scooby scene. Go to AWD yourself or pop along to a regional SIDC meet and you'll soon find out we're a very friendly bunch. Unless you turn up in an EVO
  2. I know there is a gang operating out of Cumbernauld, who regularly head through to Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Stirling. They do the old 'through-the letterbox' hook technique or, if you leave your house door unlocked they will just walk in, locate your keys and they're off in your motor. They are very organised and they have been arrested and put before the courts in Stirling. Sadly, for some reason, the sheriff decided to bail these scumbags, so they could carry on their car theft business. Do you think they're going to turn up at court for their trial? No, neither do I. The police (or at least me anyway! ) do take an interest in nicking these scum and please believe me, if a call ever came through to us in Stirling that a stolen car was being driven in our area then everyone and their granny would be gunning it from wherever they are to catch the car. Okay I may have to drive a Skoda at work but I still drive it like my scoob! Sadly, most of my day, like many other cops, is spent dealing with absolute crap which shouldn't even be getting reported to us. For example, yesterday I had to waste 30 minutes with a woman who was upset because her son fell out with another lad. She had gone to see the lad's father who said he would ground his son. The woman's complaint to me was that the father had allowed his son out to play when he promised to ground him. A police matter? mmmmm Nearly all the crap calls are from the same morons we end up locking up. It seems we (the police) spend 90% of our time running around on behalf of the 10% of anti-social non-taxpaying scumbags of society. All this time the scumbag car thieves are casing fellow performance car drivers' houses Sorry, rant over I don't think I'll ever be allowed to be an AFO anytime soon!
  3. Nope, I'm Kenny - Silver MY2000 UK Wagon (Silver Bullet) with a few bits'n'bobs courtesy of AWD
  4. Some nice designs there. I've ordered myself one of the Knockhill shirts. Now if only someone could make some Knockhill circuit stickers, like the Nurburgring ones on the Spec C's, for all us Scottish Scoobies.... [] In fact, just cancel that. Someone already is over on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Knockhill-Map-of-the...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Here's a few I took..... SIDC stand and some Scottish Scoobies Two of my terrors beside Jimmy McRae's car (with the man himself in the background) McRae's engine Clark's engine
  6. Closest car parks are either Thistle Centre or Stirling Railway Station. Parking at the front of Argos is for permit holders only. A pain if you're picking up a large item, as they've stopped allowing collections from their back door.
  7. Sorted now, cheers mate. Hope you had a good day!

  9. Yep, that was my daughter Halz and myself in the wagon. First time up since I did all the mods and found it quite hard to get a decent take-off - The turbo is so laggy compared to standard and when it does come online it spools up soooo fast, so you either risk bogging down or spinning. Put it down to "operator error"! [:$] Managed a few runs in the 12's with the best being 12.674. I think I can shave a wee bit more off once I get my starts sorted but I'm still happy. Shame about the weather early on, it obviously put a lot of people off going, but it did mean I managed to get 31 runs! [] so at least I got my money's worth.
  10. I think it is £7 per person to get in, and £15 to take your car on. You just pay your £7 at the booth when you go in, and if you want to take your car on the 1/4 mile you just go to the cabin next to the start line and pay your £15 and fill in a simple form with your name/type of car. I last went up on the Banzai magazine day and, to be honest, there ain't a lot for kids or wives/girlfriends to do if they aren't into spending ages queuing up to have a run down the 1/4 mile, watching cars go up the 1/4 mile, or looking at the other cars on show. By 1.30pm the place will be heaving, so expect to have at least a 45min wait for the 1/4 mile. A good day out for a petrolhead but if your missus/kids don't share your enthusiasm they might get a bit bored.

Myself and Fraser (superstar_tradesman) will be heading up from Stirling (me) and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Falkirk (Fraser). We could tag along from KincardineBridge if you’re heading up that way?
  12. Fraser, are you still up for Crail this weekend? Kenny
  13. Could be fun, if only to remind yourself how good the Scoob is![] My mate just spent £97k on a 997 Turbo with 4000 miles on the clock. My own classic wagon is only putting out 337bhp/309lb and I was neck and neck with his Porsche on the straights at Knockhill. Forget the Porsche, just get an Andy Forrest remap - Much cheaper and just as quick []
  14. Alan, can you give us as much of a description of this white classic as you can? I'm sure everyone would want to keep their eyes peeled for these scum. Think we'll need to invest in the kind of anti-jacking set-ups that the South Africans use - Flamethrower sidepipes anyone?
  15. Yep, Tarox do them. I also know someone who is selling another set.....[]
