from my current insures "your existing policy will cost £785.94 after allowing your 9 years no claims bonus" I know some of you might think thats a feckin good quote, but im an auld git and this was my first claim in god knows how long, so to say im miffed is an understatement. Iv'e done the comparison sites and best i came up with was £580 (which was a very good quote when i first got a scooby nearly 8 years ago )

just got my renewal notice in and current insurer has gone up BY £400 ffs, i know i had a big claim but jeez so much for paying extra for protected no claims. Next nearest quote from A plan is still up by £190 from last years premium. Im seriously thinking of selling now as i find it hard to justify paying the price for having a/holes vandalise my car and insurance companies kicking me in the nuts for the privelege. Off work this week so decided i would have a wee jaunt since i missed the last one. So after visiting my mum near Aberdeen i headed north and went to then took in some scenery before heading to stayed overnight then came back across then took in some more scenery before heading back home. All in all some great roads that i've never driven before and some that i have but a few days well spent

Well not exactly sure what happened, but got a phonecall from the paintshop after it being there for over a fortnight saying they jump started it cos the battery was flat and i started to smoke badly after being left idling, so a quick phonecall to Grieves (with a week left on my warranty) got it up to them, discovered a scored piston etc. Cant thank them enough for getting the claim and the work done quickly otherwise i would have been up s##t creek without a paddle. At long last i have my car back . Its not been the best start to the year but the cars all shiney with a new paint job AND its got a rebuilt engine (HUGE thanks to charlie and the team at Ian Greive for that). Now all i have to do is decide whether to keep what is ultimately a new car, or sell it and get my sensible head on. decisions decisions Noel

havent touched the car since it happened, its never looked sooooo dirty before but the dirt kinda hid the paintwork lol. Question now is whither to sell or not when i get it back Noel
