Personally i love the P1. But i love the Type-R too! The gearing comments, acceleration and what not isn't really the point of the thread.Well they are the difference's between the P1 and Type-R
£14,000! for a LHD classic!?! Its worth nearer half that!
For the record my absolute dream scoob is...
Pistonheads and only £5995!

I could be right or wrong there is difference's between gearing of P1 and type r and weight .Type r being faster acelarating
http://spda-online.ca/modules/tinycontent/rewrite/tc_28.html .Was right with the gearing look down this list and forgot to mention the Dccd on the type r.

V-power is 99ron some Ecu mappers say the V-power is better than tesco 99 .I had a 05 Jdm Sti i have mapped for V-power and never use any thing else .

Yes you're right the UK models do get a STANDARD unequal length header (hence the burble). What I was trying to say in my post about headers is that if you're aiming for show over go and want a big noise get a better after market unequal length header and exhaust. If you're aiming for big power get an aftermarket equal length header and exhaust system. The post about removing the cats was just me not reading the OPs cars spec properly.
You can get the standard headers ported for better gains in bhp and torque same with after market uequal length headers and Jdm Sti equal length headers you would need to fit the sump of the 03 onwards Jdm's for these headers to fit and have read Shaun ex sn web owner runs over 500bhp with Jdm Sti headers .You change the exhaust for a full decat and no resonators the exhaust will be louder and after a remap will gain more bhp and torque

http://www.prodrive.com/up/03MY%20STi%20PPP.pdf .Have a look here what is changed when Prodrive Performance Pack is fitted to Sti's .
Uk wrx and Sti's have unequal length headers fitted standard. The 03 onwards Jdm Sti's have equal length headers no burble
Don't know how big a job it is with fitting Hid lights from a Jdm Sti to uk Sti

Still on the diesel power for now mate. The white beast should be MOT'd and painted for my return onshore on the 22nd. Can't wait, the diesel has 45bhp so the rallye should be a bit more fun if i can master changing into 4th instead of 6th
Any more up dates and take it easy in the rallye don't won't to see you hugging any more tree's

Lush!
Do you reckon the rear tints were a factory option on the hawks? You see them so often on UK cars (including mine) that I have to wonder... And I must be the only hawkeye STI owner not to have a front splitter Rear tints are factory fitted on the Jdm Sti
What's your suspension setup?
-
Thats the way the Jdm Sti comes from the factory like that

My Sti sounds like that with the standard DVHope he is not going to suffer from borewash with that DV. Surely Cosworth must have read the posts on here about the dangers of the dreaded DV? ; - ) -
Welcome along .

I echo the comments above.. If your thinking of usign it for remapping them be very careful! and be absolutely sure you know what your doign before trying to tweak anything!!
To answer your question.. I've had one of these cables for a couple of years and works a treat.. I't paid for it'self with the amount of times I'm used it to check/clear error codes! Funilly enough I have a similar setup on my car with the display on teh dash and stuff.. But it's a long term project of mine and havent got a computer properly installed on the car yet.
I'd reccomend using ECU expalorer and RomRaider software for the Impreza.. Also checkout openecu.org for info.. It is possible to remap the ECU with this cable/software, but not for the feighnt hearted an it woudl be VERY easy to blow something if you much it up.. Having said that after much reading and learning and spending months and months understanding it all I managed to remap my own WRX to a usable 270+bhp from 215bhp standard, and that was down on boost at the time (and fell off the rolling road ) But I wouldn't dare remap anyone elses car.. and I have been asked..
What would your intentions be with the cable?
ScoUk you forgot about the Afr meter and det can's .Kevin

My 03 non-dccd STi type UK is regarded as a version 8. A 05 with dccd would be a version 9 even though they look the same. Believe that is also true of jdm models.
Alot of people say version numbers stopped with the classic sti version 6.Kevin
