A lot is down to the tyres you have on when it is snowy.
Pukka M+S winter tyres make a hell of a difference compared to the 'fast-road/track' tyres most of us have on our scoobs.
The compound on proper winter tyres remains soft and pliable at temperatures where our normal tyres go hard and teflon-like.
I have a set of wheels and Michelin M/S tyres that I put on when the snow comes (currently in my shed - doh ! - guess what I'm doing on my day off tomorrow !)
Ice is a different matter .
If there is no traction available , even with the best 4x4 (LandRover etc) , you will have 'no wheel drive' unless you have metal studded tyres like the have to fit in Scandanavia in winter (by law !).

im fairly sure that if you still have the paper licence you are breaking the law as its meant to be compulsary to have changed over. but hey av recently passed (oct 07) so mines is good for donkeys years after being banned for ten strech
Never had a problem when I've had to take my old licence in with a HORT1 .
Unless I move home I'll not be changing mine . I don't need an I.D. card - I know who I am

Ahha ! That makes sense .
I knew that with a classic car which had been given an age-related reg , that reg could not be transferred .
I hadn't thought about reg after private plate taken off .
Would it also be 'non-transferable' if the age-related reg was issued to an import ?
Cheers ,
Al.

As above .
If it says on a V5 ''non-transferable registration mark' - Why would that be ?

"New-age Neil" just hasn't got the same ring to it
. . . . . . Classic or new-age , you'll always be "Diesel-hawnz"

Well done to the guys who did the first shopping-trip tonight
Its always fun to watch 6 adults spend £2000 in a toyshop - some even bought sweets on the way out (with their own pocket-money BTW )
Next shopping trip will be to spend monies raised from auction (ending tonight !) and the meal and raffle at Kwang Tung . Time and place TBA.

aye but how easy will it be to post a framed poster further afield
in the week before Christmas?
plus not sure how keen folk would be to help the Glasgow Santa Cruise, its our local thing, not a McRae thing.
would prefer to keep this one local tbh
Though we could probably make more if we publicised it more or ran for a bit longer , it was a bit of a spontanious decision made at last Thursdays meet which left us little time to make some extra money for Glasgow Santa Cruise on Sunday 14th.
The auctions are doing well and I think it would be best if the winners are 'known' .
. . . . no problem with anyone from outside 'Scottish Scoobies' or SIDC bidding though - as long as they can get payment to us in time for us to buy the toys for us to deliver to Yorkhil Childrens Hospital
