I am delighted to announce that the Glasgow/Strathclyde region has a new R.O.
I hope you will all give STI Pretender (Robert) as much help and support as you gave me, and keep Glasgow/Strathclyde Region going from strength to strength.
I'm sure everyone that knows Robert will agree that he has done some great work for the club including lots of stuff 'behind the scenes' - sourcing stickers and hats for Santa Cruise , even donning the Santa suit to distribute our gifts to the kids at Yorkhill .
He has been a stalwart , rarely missing a meeting and is a great supporter of all our club events.
I'm sure he will do an excellent job as RO.

As long as it's not Dougster!
No danger of that lol (did he not disappear up his own a**e a while back )
It is now 'official' , STI Pretender is now the new Glasgow R.O.

Thanks for the kind words folks
It looks like we may have a new Glasgow/Strathclyde Regional Organiser - I'm just waiting for a wee PM back from them accepting the role before I make any 'official' announcement.
Thanks again for your support,
Ally.

After a long hard think , I've decided it is time for me to call it a day .
I am far too busy with work , family and other commitments to remain in Glasgow/Strathclyde Regional Organiser position.
In recent months I've even found it hard to find time to manage to fit in the monthly meets so I think now is the time for someone else to take over.
I still hope to attend meets , runs etc when I can and intend to remain an active SIDC member .
I'll also help anyone who takes the Glasgow/Strathclyde RO position in any way I can .
I've had a great time over the years I've been R.O. , mainly due to the fact that the members in Glasgow/Strathclyde region are such a good bunch .
Any members want to be Glasgow/Strathclyde R.O. ?

Thanks,

Ally, I had to leave early last night so didn't go into the Harvester with the rest of you.
I don't mind helping out with the phone calls / police etc.
Let me know and I will arrange collect all the contact details etc from last year.
Excellent
I'll PM the details to you , thanks.

Yes , it's that time of year again folks
I mentioned to most folk I spoke to at last nights meet that it is time we got the ball-rolling for this years Santa Cruise.
We plan to follow the same idea as the past few years ...
IE.
1. Raise money via donation sheets , sticker sales etc
2. Purchase lots of toys and gifts with funds raised
3. Meet up with cars decked out in Christmas decorations - wee prize for best decorated car.
4. Convoy through city
5. Present gifts to hospital c/w Santa.
Ed-209 has kindly offered to produce Santa Cruise 2009 stickers/decals for the cars - Hopefuly we'll have these available to purchase at the next meet .
Robert (STIpretender) has the donation sheets which we'll make available as soon as we get date finalised. He also has a Santa suit (I'm awaiting reply from our other 'Santa' !)
IMPORTANT !
We need a volunteer to make a few phone calls/emails to Yorkhill hospital to arrange a date and time and a call and letter to Strathclyde Police to let them know our intended route.
I normally do this part , but due to work and family commitments I won't be able to this year (I'm no longer allowed private calls , emails or internet at work. I'll also be in England on most of my days off as Ruths job has moved to Brum)
I have all the contact details from previous years and I'll pass them on to anyone who'll help .
PLEASE POST HERE OR PM ME ASAPIF YOU CAN HELP .
If no-one volunteers to help with this , the event won't happen
I hope we can work together to make 2009s event as successful as previous years have been

Skye Mkii
in Scottish Scoobies
Posted
At the last Glasgow meet we were nattering about this very subject and Squiggle suggested Applecross as a destination , with 'that road' being good reason - I pointed out that bookings for the hotel or campsite would have to be booked well in advance as it is a tiny (P.O. + inn) village and the campsite is very popular with climbers, hikers, cyclists, bikers + tourists all year round.
The roads are second-to-none , traffic minimal , scenery exceptional ... scooby-juice might be hard to find though - but no worse than Skye ! lol
Discuss . . . .
