Its all to easy to look at the worst side of things when this kind of thing happens, so glad to see your keeping a positive outlook on things.

OMG, hope your recovery is a speedy on. Several years ago my brother, a biker, looked at the prospect of never riding a bike again or as you mentioned playing the guitar again This was after a firework at a family bonfire party went off wrong and hit my brother in the stomach, where it exploded as he put his hand over it to try and get it off him, it took out his biking jacket a jumper a shirt and a t shirt plus alot of his skin on his stomach and his hand was extremly damaged. The hospital even considered removing three of his fingers as they thought the damage was too extensive! After alot of healing and alot of determination he managed to keep his fingers and now still rides his motorbike and plays guitar. So even if the hospital dont look to hopeful dont just take their word for it, be positive and you never know the outcome could be a good one

No its a UK car, seen the part now its off the car and no apparent sign of welding. Also had the car HPI checked before I got it and that came back clear with no accident damage. Just one of those things i think, interesting to see its not a common thing though.

Nightmare! Always happens when your due to do somethimg or go somewhere. The bottom arm is as you say shot completly split apart, subaru quoted £140 ish for the arm and £56 for the drop link, got them from grade A in the end.

Yep last place i tried as was a bit reluctant to go second hand but they did have all the parts, had a chat about the situation with them and the parts will be here monday. Well of course i blame dan that goes without saying!!!! it is always his fault!

been searching for the arm all day and so far have only found subaru doing the newage one, several for the classic on flea bay! Typical.

Its been taken to the garage and is awaiting the parts being stripped off, not going to do anything further with it untill I know if the parts stu has will fit or not.

this is what happened when the car was pushed two foot back before being put on low loader ouchhhhh The wheel ended up at an angle ie top in bottom out!

Where would you suggest I look for the pattern? Ive looked about and can only find upto 2000 and mine is a 2001. Subaru just quoted £402 as a minimum as they cant rule out other damage that is not obvious until inspected

Guy before me was a mechanic for Mitsubishi and seemed to of looked after it well, i guess it is just bad luck.

Never tracked it and its completly standard. Only got it in April so have not got around to doing stuff to it. Im pretty worried right now, had all three kids in car over the wekend driving up and down the by pass etc etc could of been fatal.

Today as i turned into the bottom of my road there was a loud crunch and bang, limped home 200meters and found this..... As you can see the drop link is shot but to the right of it a large crack. Pretty worried now about the rest of the strength of the car, Rac and garage asked if id hit a pot hole hard or anything like tha but I have not. Another expensive day out I expect
